Starting Next Season.... Player Awards???

So I know we give out player awards, like MVP's, and Offensive Rookie of the Years, but there's really no reward for winning them. Like, I know Ray Rice won the MVP, but that was it. Julio Jones win's ROY, but that was it, I was scrolling back on the SFL Radio shows and went to the very first one for last season, and you guys were mentioning the player awards and who you guys (admins) were thinking was going to win certain awards.

Now, is it possible that after Week 9/Week 10, we as a league can start on MVP Voting or what not. Like here's what I had playing out in my head pause.

We start a Player Awards thread, which could look like this (this is an example using last season):

MVP: ________
Offensive Rookie of the Year: __________
Defensive Rookie of the Year: __________
Surprise Player of the Year: ___________
Coach of the Year: ____________

Each one of the users can nominate who they believe should be considered, and those with the most votes, obviously become the canidates. Then we do it all over again, and the league votes for those who are the final canidates, of course not voting for anyone on our own team.

Now here's where the reward can come in.

I'm not sure what the admin team would set in stone for the league, but for example, since we are getting rid of free cuts, starting next season, what about if the team with the MVP gets one/two free cuts, . The team with the rookies of the year can get some kind of smaller prize as well as the other categories.

Good idea, bad idea?

Good thought, but I do not like incentive based things like this. Keeps the rich getting richer.....

Okay makes sense, that was my only downfall about this idea.

I agree, but the league voting on the awards is a great idea. Makes a lot more sense than admins only being able to vote for awards.

I like the league voting also, and will look into it.

Good idea but, we don't want a stat driven league and that will promote padding stats.
