Kolb Cut, Jason Campbell onboard!

The Cardinals made the tough decision of cutting ties with former Pro Bowl QB Kevin Kolb. After his repeated playoff failures and skills decrease, the team couldn't justify paying him 60 million dollars. The move gives the Cards over 22 million dollars of cap space. QB Jason Campbell, formerly of the Bears, will get a chance in pre season to earn the starting position vs QB's John Skelton and Ryan Lindely.

Jason Campbell debuts with a passing td

The Cards were locked in a defensive clash with a tough Raiders team. Both teams starters saw limited action. All eyes were on new Cards QB Jason Campbell as he lead the team to 10 points in a quarter and half of action. Campbell looked comfortable with the 1st team and passed for 53 yards 1 td and 0 ints. 1st round pick WR Michael Floyd looked sharp as he took over the role of number 1 WR when Fitzgerald went to the bench. Floyd finished with 3 rec 61 yards and 1 td. Starting RB Beanie Wells looked in MVP form, with 4 carries for 104 yards and a td. "The Raiders played great defense and I expect to see them make noise in the AFC West" Coach King said after the game. Next week the Cardinals take on the Titans in their 3rd pre-season game. Before ending the pre-season vs the Broncos.

Re: #Birdgang Headquarters

The Cardinals dominate the Patriots in New England 59-7!

Beanie Wells the SFL leading rusher on his way to 214 yards

Arizona was firing on all cylinders in New England, new QB Jason Campbell wanted to get the offense on track and show that he is a Pro Bowl quality QB. Campbell looked much calmer in the pocket as he orchestrated an offense that looked like the best in the SFL. The aim was erase memories of his week 1 game. He did just that passing for 242 yards 4 tds and 1 int with over 70% completion percentage. Once again he had a great connection with future Hall of Fame WR Larry Fitzgerald who finished with 130 yards and a td. The Cards didn’t neglect the run game and let their rb’s punish the Patriots defenders. Superstar RB Beanie Wells had the best rushing game in the SFL this season, cruising to 214 yards on 17 carries with 2 td’s. His statement run was a 71 yard power iso where he stiffed armed Patriots FS Will Allen into the dirt breaking his collar bone in the process and putting him out of work for 5 weeks. 2nd year RB Ryan Williams also got in the action with 68 yards on 11 carries, his highlight of the game was a 23 yard td run.

As great as the offense looked the story of the game was probably the defense. They harassed Tom Brady all game (191 yards 1 td 5 ints) and never let him get comfortable. Patrick Peterson had his first interception of the year when he jumped a simple in route and took the pick to the house. Adrian Wilson, Calais Campbell, Darnell Dockett, William Gay, and Darryl Washington all were a part of the sack party. Surprisingly the defensive player of the game was corner William Gay who had 2 int’s and a sack as he suffocated the Patriots slot wr’s all game. The defense once again surrendered less than 250 yards as the Patriots finished with 215 yards and only 7 points. After the game Cardinals MLB Darryl Washington had this to say “We feel we had some bad luck in week 1 and that was a game we should’ve won. We weren’t going to let this game slip away from us and we plan on playing the rest of our games this season just like that. It’s time to let our inner savage out and make our opponents fear us before they even step on the field!” Next week the Cardinals look to continue their winning ways when they host the Eagles.

Re: #Birdgang Headquarters

Cardinals end the Dolphins undefeated streak in a huge win! 41-10

Campbell throws no int's for the first time as a Cardinal

The Cardinals have had very bad luck this season but their defense manages to bring them even at 2-2. Untimely turnovers have plagued them all season but this game was turnover free for the Birds. Miami's game plan was to slow down Beanie Wells the SFL leading rusher and there plan worked pretty well (22 carries 73 yards 1 td). The problem was Cardinals QB Jason Campbell sliced and diced their secondary for 312 yards 3 tds and 0 ints. Cards rookie WR Michael Floyd got his first career td. Larry Fitzgerald and TE Rob Housler both finished over 100 yards and Housler scored his 4 td of the season.

Phins RB Reggie Bush struggled vs the Cardinals stout defense, finishing with only 19 rushing yards on 7 attempts with one td. Rookie QB Ryan Tannehill played a solid game but made a few bad throws that Cardinals CB Greg Toler took advantage of (2 int's 1 int TD). Arizona's defense aka the Bird gang sacked Tannehill 6 times while the Phins defense never got a sack on Jason Campbell. After the game Beanie Wells spoke "The Phins have the best rush defense I have seen all season, hats off to them. Coach Drew had his guys play hard but we are a team on a mission. When we keep our turnovers low we can't be beat." Next week the Cardinals travel to St.Louis to take on the 0-4 Rams. This is a division game and the Cards won't take them lightly despite their record.

Peterson and Toler rack up Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Week 3 saw Cardinals future superstar CB Patrick Peterson pick up NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in a 2 int 1 td game vs the Eagles. In week 4 Cardinals corner Greg Toler also claimed DPOW honors, keeping the award in Arizona thanks to his 2 int 1 td game. The Cardinals cornerbacks are exceeding expecations this season. Let's see if they can keep it up this week vs the St. Louis Rams

Rookie FS Justin Bethel wins Defensive Player of the Week honors!

For the 3rd straight week a Cardinals defensive back has won NFC DPOW. This week it was rookie FS Justin Bethel who had 2 ints and a td in a convincing win vs the Ram. The future looks bright in Arizona.
