The Lions dominated this game statistically, as Stafford passed for almost 500 yards and 2 touchdowns, but Tony Romo was clutch, as the Lions tooks the lead with 1 minute left, but showed his clutch gene and connected for a 56 yard touchdown with rookie Clarence Richard for the game winner.

The Lions got the ball back, but Stafford threw an interception on a deep look for rookie Marcus Rigby. The Lions benched Jahvid Best, who fumbled in Dallas territory.

The Lions travel home to host the Tennessee Titans next week.

Lions bounce back and demolish Titans in home opener

The Titans drove down the field after a Ryan Broyles touchdown on the Lions opening drive, and answered with a 15 yard Chris Johnson touchdown run. The 0-2 Titans were fired up, out to prove that this start to the year is a fluke.

But a fumble on the kickoff return by the Titans after a Lions touchdown led to a 21-7 hole they could never recover from. The Lions capitalized on all of the mistakes by the Titans, which included 2 turnovers, and 4 sacks on the erratic Tennessee offensive line.

Matthew Stafford continues his impressive start to the year, completing 21/25 passes for 325 yards, and 5 touchdowns (Williams, 1; Megatron, 3; Broyles, 1). Jahvid Best ran the ball very well again on 20 carries for 128 and a score, but a late hit to the knee forced him out, and he may miss more time.

The Lions travel to Minnesota next week, and hope to continue their hot start.

Lions dominate in all aspects, embarrass Vikings in Minneapolis

The Lions have put another 50 burger on a team this year, this time their divisional rivals. The Lions offense has been red hot as of late, even with the injury to Jahvid Best. Coach Adelmann surprised everyone when he decided to start Mikel Leshoure over rookie Ronald Whiteside, but it paid off, as Leshoure rushed for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Stafford still needs to work on his turnovers, even though 2 of his 3 interceptions came off bad drops by his receivers, but his touchdowns and yards have made up for it. He spread the ball around very well, especially to Mike Williams who had a career day.

A very hidden gem of this team has been the special teams. Rookie wideout Zoey Cross is a top 5 punt returner in the NFL, and has put the Lions in great field position all year.

The Lions face the St. Louis Rams next week in St. Louis.

Lions make 20 point comeback in a sloppy game at St. Louis

Falling behind 17-0 in the 2nd quarter, things were looking bleak for the Lions, whose offense was being slowed down by 4 Matthew Stafford interceptions. But rookie Carson Crosby got a pick six at the end of the half to make the score more manageable at 17-7.

Matthew Stafford heated up in the second half, connecting with Mike Williams on the game-tying score for 24 yards, then led the team down the field twice to add 6 extra points from field goals.

The Lions looked sluggish all afternoon, but came away with the victory. The Lions go into their bye week at 4-1, sitting atop the NFC North with the Green Bay Packers.

Lions come back to beat Green Bay, improve to 5-1

Matthew Stafford picked a perfect day to have one of his best games of his career. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers were leading 17-7 at halftime, after a failed 1 minute drive for the Lions that stalled at the Packers 40. The Lions received the opening kickoff, and drove down the field to make the score 17-14, with clutch catches by Mike Williams and Calvin Johnson.

In the 4th quarter, the Lions scored 14 points to the Green Bay 7, with touchdowns to Calvin Johnson and Brandon Pettigrew, in the case of Johnson, he broke free of the defense for a 50 yard score to put them up 28-24.

The Packers had a chance to win on a 2 minute drive, but it was stopped on their own 20, and they turned it over on downs, leading to the Lions moving to 5-1, and taking control of the NFC North.

The Lions host their rival Minnesota Vikings this week before traveling to Green Bay for the rematch.

Mistake prone Vikings hand Lions victory in a blowout

The mistake prone Vikings turned the ball over twice inside their own 20 in the 1st half to give the Lions 14 free points, and leading 41-0 going into the 2nd half, the Lions could take their foot off the gas.

Matthew Stafford had another great game, throwing for 327 yards and 3 touchdowns, while the run game generated 200 yards and 3 touchdowns from 3 different running backs. In the receiving game, Calvin Johnson was the main target, going over 150 yards and catching the first touchdown of the game.

The story could be the defense though, as they limited the Vikes to 6 points, and sacked Christian Ponder 8 times and forced a fumble. Cliff Avril had an amazing game, sacking Ponder 4 times and recovering the fumble.

The Lions are roaring to 6-1, and now travel to Green Bay for a rematch with the Packers, which could prove to be the game that decides the division.

Packers rally to beat Lions in a classic at Lambeau

The Lions took a 21-12 lead in the 4th quarter at Lambeau, shocking the Green Bay fans, as Matthew Stafford was having another great game, throwing two touchdowns to Pettigrew and Calvin Johnson. The Packers weren't done though, as Rodgers quickly led the Pack down the field to score a touchdown to push themselves within 2. The Lions then attempted a field goal, but it missed by 2 yards, allowing the Packers to drive down, and kick a field goal, to take the lead 22-21.

The Lions almost rallied at the end, getting into Green Bay territory, but the last hail mary fell short, and the Lions fall to 6-2 after a great battle on the frozen tundra.

Next week, the Lions will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Lions bounce back against Buccaneers at home

After a heartbreaking loss to the Packers last week, the Lions hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week, and despite a good performance from the Bucs offense, they didn't have enough to keep up with Matthew Stafford and Jahvid Best.

In Mike Williams' first time playing Tampa since signing with the Lions, he caught 7 balls for 87 and a score. Williams was seen hugging his former coach after the game, thanking him for all he had done. Williams in a post game presser had this to say..

"Of course Tampa Bay will always be a special place for me, but Detroit is my home now, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."

Next week the 7-2 Detroit Lions will travel to Jacksonville to face the struggling Jaguars.
