Cardinals Making Moves


The season has yet to kick off but the Cardinals have agreed in principle to two trades. The first trade is sending hard hitting MLB Jasper Brinkley (75 rating) to the Bengals in return for QB Josh Johnson (70 rating) and a 5th round pick. The deal would solidify the Cardinals back up qb position. Another trade was made to help legitimize the Cards 2nd cb spot. The Bears are shipping CB Tim Jennings (90 rating) to Arizona in return for CB Antonie Cason (81 rating) and a 2nd round pick. This trade will give the Cardinals two elite corners and help their defense carve a niche as a feared secondary. Both trades are pending league approval.

Kenny Phillips joins an improved secondary



Cardinals general manger Steve Kiems main goal this off season was to add more talent to the secondary. So far the mission is going according to plan. The Cardinals made a trade for Bears corner Tim Jennings (90 rating) that is still pending and they just signed safety Kenny Phillips in free agency (83 rating).
Phillips is only 26 and this is a chance for him to revive a career in limbo. He will pair with Honey Badger to form a solid safety tandem. The needle is moving up for the Cardinals talent wise as they try to improve on the 6th worst team in the SFL based on talent.

Down goes Dansby!


In the last two minutes of pre season game 4 MLB Karlos Dansby made a thunderous qb sack and suffered an abdominal tear in the process. He will be out for the next 4 weeks. The Cardinals are already short handed because superstar MLB Darryl Washington is serving a 4 game suspension. The lb core depth will be tested in the first 4 games of the season. Look for some unlikely players to step up big time.
