Re: Super's Selections

Week 15:

Chargers vs Broncos

Every AFC West matchup for the rest of the season will be a big one and this one is no exception. With both teams fighting for a wildcard berth, it all comes down to QB play with Phillip Rivers facing off against Peyton Manning. Rivers has thrown more TD’s and less INT’s than Peyton Manning, so for that reason alone I’ll take San Diego.

Chargers 37
Broncos 34

Texans vs Colts

The AFC South title can be won if Houston beats Indianapolis. Houston has played pretty well on both sides of the football, while Indianapolis has underwhelmed a little bit. The Colts really need this game, but I think Houston sweeps the season series and wins the AFC South this week.

Texans 34
Colts 24

Eagles vs Vikings

I thought a few weeks back that the Eagles were a contender, but losses to elite teams such as the Lions and Cardinals have shown me that they are a pretender. There’s a good chance they’ll still make the playoffs, but it’s looking like they’ll be one and done if they reach the postseason. I’m taking the Vikings due to the Eagles lack of momentum.

Eagles 27
Vikings 38

Chiefs vs Raiders

This wasn’t much of a game when they first played this season with the Chiefs winning 24-10 while holding Oakland to under 100 yards rushing. The same game plan applies; if the Chiefs hold the Raiders to under 100 yards on the ground again, they will win. I think this will happen and the Chiefs will take the division lead back from Oakland.

Chiefs 27
Raiders 20

Ravens vs Lions

The Game of the Week, Marvin thinks so as do I. The Lions offense has been one of the best in the league with their star power in the passing game and running game. Also, their ability to protect Stafford has been top notch. They go up against the Ravens defense which has been putting QB’s on their back sides (pause) all season long. Terrell Suggs has 23 QB tackles alone and is looking like the Defensive Player of the Year. I know that every time I pick against the Lions, they win. So, I’ll take Baltimore by the slightest of margins. If the Lions win, I’ll take them as my Super Bowl winner.

Ravens 27
Lions 24

Falcons over Redskins
Cardinals over Titans
Bucs over 49ers
Rams over Aints
Seahawks over Giants (Upset special, but Tower needs to trade me Sherman)
Bears over Browns
Bills over Baduars
Patriots over Dolphins
Cowboys over Packers (If Forleaf were a Power Ranger, he would say “It’s tanking time” when he morphs)
Steelers over Bengals

My Record: 122-69

At the end of the season, I will be doing an awards write up as well.

Re: Super's Selections

Week 16:

Bad news guys, the Lions won again even though I picked them to lose to the Ravens. The season’s over, it’s time to crown their *** (pause?). Anyway, on to the picks….

Colts vs Chiefs

The Colts won a shoot out last week against the Texans to keep themselves in the race for the AFC South. The Chiefs are neck and neck with the Raiders and Chargers for the AFC West (the Raiders-Chiefs hasn’t been played yet as I’m writing this). There’s a good possibility that 3 teams will represent the AFC West in the playoffs making them the best division in the SFL. However, the Colts are competing with these teams for one of the two wildcard spots as well so this game is a de facto playoff game. The Colts have been taking more chances in the passing game than the Chiefs and that may hurt them as the Chiefs have done pretty well with respect to their pass defense. Also, I don’t trust the Colts defense to keep the Chiefs in check, so I gotta take the Chiefs this week.

Colts 27
Chiefs 35

Vikings vs Bengals

The Vikings scored a nice win against the Ravens and beat the free falling Eagles as well to stay in the wildcard race as they are currently tied for the 6th seed with Philadelphia. The Bengals are that hang nail that’s about to fall off; the Bengals have to win out to have any chance at the playoffs. I’m 99% sure that AC wins this game, so I’ll take AC and the Vikings.

Vikings 41
Bengals 21

Cardinals vs Seahawks

The Cardinals have the NFC West crown in their pockets and are now gunning for a 1st round bye which they are more likely than not to get. The Seahawks have been building up momentum over the last few weeks (and for some reason they’re not tanking). This could be a trap game for the Cardinals with the Seahawks flying high recently, so I’ll take the Seahawks for my own selfish purposes.

Cardinals 24
Seahawks 27

Raiders vs Chargers

This game is pretty important regardless of the outcome of Raiders-Chiefs. The Raiders have surprised all season long and are very close to making it back to the playoffs. The Chargers have been slinging the rock around all season long and that has kept them alive for the playoffs. This should be a close game, but I’ll take Rivers and the Chargers; I bet that he throws 4 TD’s this week.

Raiders 28
Chargers 34

Bills over Dolphins
Cowboys over Redskins
Bucs over Rams (It’s tanking time!)
Bears over Eagles (Upset special #2)
Browns vs Jets (Who gives a f***!)
Texans over Broncos (Another 500 yards for Schaub)
Titans over Baduars
Lions over Giants (Lions will be the SFL Champions)
Steelers over Eagles (tanks, tanks, more tanks)
Ravens over Patriots
Falcons over 49ers

My Record: 129-77

I think during the re-signing period you can take a look at your picks and you'll see what overall pick you have.

Thanks, I just checked and it looks like I have the #4 pick overall and 5 picks total in the first 3 rounds. Not bad
