Well I've been using the hit stick and I'm pretty sure I'm just giving it a flick and it just does a tackle it isn't that easy I have missed lots of times or sometimes I am too late for the tackle you need quite a bit of room between you and the ball carrier to have a successful "hit stick" tackle. You can also approach the ball carrier at different angles and use the hit stick I find coming in on the side and on a good angle instead of coming at the ball carrier straight ahead will cause a fumble more often.
