I hate stuff like that when coaches abuse rules and kids' lack of knowledge on the subject. When I was in 4th grade, we played a team in the playoffs called Braddock Road. Now, this is when field goals in XP attempts count as 2 points, and you literally weren't allowed to rush the kicker. Pretty much, our league required you to stand there. The damn team ran a fake while we were just standing there. I was irate.
Even worse, I was coaching 7-8 baseball a year ago. Now, at this age, due to poor coordination, there'll be only 2-3 players on the team who can throw and catch the ball with any regularity. This means that any real contact by the batter can result in a homerun if given long enough. But it's pretty much common courtesy to stop once the ball is stopped.
What does the Yellow team do? They run their players at least one extra base every damn hit.
