MLB Power Pros - Success Mode

I'm getting addicted to this damn mode~
    haha

i just thought it deserved it's own thread.
i'm a SS, on year 2, dec, but i'm too busy doing other crap like working and dating, i barely have enough time to practice~!
    i'm still 1,6,28,5,2,4,5.
my moneyman, bookworm, and ladiesman did go up pretty good though hehe
also, i did use all that money to buy sleep pillows, and 4 improvement necklaces etc. hopefully they'll me when i actually do put in some practice :P
also, hopefully, i realize later on, i can only use one necklace or some crap like that hehe

On my second runthrough, made a 3B that has a A for Speed, D for Connect F for Power and Arm Str and D for Fielding and Error Resistance. He's gotten pretty close to Annabelle and he has tons of bonuses to his name. He's also a maxed out bookworm. I'll try to get a screencap of the guy.

I've gotten a ton of singles except final tournament game. I cheated and had Willy do all the dirty work. He got me a double.

There's an item that prevents timid from afflicting you or can recover from it. It goes away over time but it's random.

I played as a pitcher.. Put all my efforts into bookworm and the ladies.. Didn't practice a damn thing and had Willie pitch me to the finals. When I had to pitch myself, I sucked and literally got the "Game Over" screen.

I intend to make a batter next, and I am thinking a high contact hitting shortstop with good speed would be fun.

Regarding Success mode... Is it over after three years, or is does it continue if your player makes a MLB team? A simple answer would be fine, as I'm having a blast with the mode and would prefer to avoid spoilers.

Unfortunately it doesn't continue on, but you can import him into your franchise mode and play out his first 10 years there and continue to develop him.

Is it possible to just control your character in franchise play (like was done in Success mode), or must you control the entire team?

Your choice. You can just control your character by setting it up that way in the Turn Setup screen to switch to Normal Mode from Quick Play when a certain player is up to bat or on the mound.

I just spent the last few hours on Success Mode, created a Starting Pitcher. Didn't get to play on the team the first year, but I focused mainly on training with the occasional study break - just enough to pass finals. Soon after the season I was told I made the roster for next year, and soon after that I was named team captain, so I guess I did enough training to catch the coach's eye that first year.

I'm up to my 2nd year now and after winning the last regular season game I'm about to enter the tournament. My max speed is 81 mph, I have D control and C stamina, and I have a 2 rated hard slider. I also have the Poise 4, RISP 4, and Lucky attributes. I've also been seeing the geeky TA girl, which looks like a good choice - you get both Ladies Man and Bookworm stat increases for seeing her. But other than that and resting, I've focused all my time into training, no part-time job or anything else. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I want to try this approach first and see how well I can do.

I've gotten three increases to my Scout rating so far as well - 1 for when the scout's daughter joined the team as assistant manager, another for winning the scout's challenge (he offered to take a look at me if I would throw 10 pitches at a target, probably the pitching mini-game, but I used a Challenge card here and the scout changed it to a "get this batter out" challenge instead), and winning the last game of the season to make the tournament.

I've noticed you get a pretty big boost to all your stats if your player does well in a game, so I'm hoping to win the tournament and get a couple nice boosts - the amount of EXP needed to boost a stat increases as the stat itself gets higher. By the end of Success I hope to have at least B control and B stamina, with a max speed of 88 or higher and at least 1 pitch rated at least a 3 and another pitch rated at least a 2.

I really like the idea of taking your Success Mode guy into the Season Mode to play out his career. If my pitcher turns out decent I think I'll give that a try.

I noticed that you could create 110 fielders and 90 pitchers total in Success Mode so if someone went absolutely crazy you could create a whole teams worth of guys and use them in the Season Mode.

Does anyone have more information on the "Turn Options"?

I gather that you can set it to "simulate" the game until your player appears, but is it possible for the game to start simulating again when he's removed (in the case of a pitcher)?

I think it would be very cool to have the gameplay on Season mode be identical to the way the user player is handled in Success mode, but I am not entirely sure if the Turn Options can simulate this entirely.

I can not figure out how to get my player into the franchise mode.
