Well when it sounds like a 2x4 hitting a rock it tends to be very noticable and does bother me. Hopefully it has improved this year. Then again baseball id my favorite game to play so maybe I'm being too "critical" ??

That would actually be an improvement over the sound they use now.
How people who love baseball could play the game without noticing or caring about those god-awful bat sounds, is beyond my comprehension. On the other hand Madden uses a cannon sound for long bombs, and that game sells like hotcakes. So maybe it's just me.Comment

Before switching to MVP in 2004, I was a die hard High Heat guy. That game was incredible. That said, High Heat 2003 may be one of the ugliest baseball games ever created. Ever. I also love Power Pros. But it has some of the worst commentary of a modern sports game. It stinks.
While both those are certainly issues I wish didn't exist, both those games pack a terrific, on field baseball experience. So for me, things like that don't bug me too much.
To each his own, I guess.Comment

I'm pumped about the game, but I hope they do something about the crowd. At an angle, the crowd looks great, but when it's straight on (in the Wrigley shot), you can easily count how many people there are in center field.Comment

It would also be possible to "fake" a 3D crowd in this sense...
Fully render the crowd up close, let them reach for foul balls, home runs, etc. But from a distance, use depth if field to "blur" a fully animated 2D crowd. Virtua Striker 3 on Sega's Model 3 arcader hardware did this years ago... and the crowd looked awseome (for it's time).Comment

There's even a difference between the batters box chalk in the 4th inning at At&T Park and the 5th inning at Fenway. Very nice.Comment
