nice... i think i am gonna put it up for now then if i start doin the same thing i will knock it down... i also had an issue wit the AI just scoring their runs from HRs so i decided to bring there power down some and there skill a tiny bit... now its time to test, i am in the 3rd inning now

Re: Die hard sliders!!
Hey MRshow i to was striking the computer out a lot but heres what i did and i love it// Go to edit players and change the controll for all of your pitchers to zero ... Example .. goto becket click edit player then where it list the type of pitches he throws move the controll slider for all of his pitches down to zero...
It makes the game play great i actually walk poeple now!!!Comment

Re: Die hard sliders!!
When you turn the power down for the AI make sure it still says custom-p in top right because i heard if you change some things to much it will reset all the sliders to rookie or all star so just keep an eye on that..... Also let me know how it goes with there power lowered..... And Aj here are my results through 10 games.. Im 4-6 and manny and papi both have 4homeruns each so far looking pretty good..Comment

Re: Die hard sliders!!
just finished my first games wit my tweaked version sliders and i had some good results! this is with fantasy draft:
stros(me) 6 10 1 3HR .270 1SB
O. Perez- 6IP 8H 7K 3.00ERA 85PT 27B 58S
padres 4 9 1 3HR .265 0SB(no surprise here)
K. Slowey- 7 2/3IP 7H 4K 2.35ERA 58PT 5B 53S
I still gotta be a little more patient! this was actual the first game i wasnt very patient out of all of them.
both teams had 3 HRs(mine all came in a 5 run 8th inning
)which was ok... still kinda wish the AI would not just score all their runs wit HRs... well i guess they had one that wasnt but still it was a good game!

Re: Die hard sliders!!
it is really good in my opinion cause u get some bloopers that drop and u can get those line drives in the gaps and stretch them into triples(with someone quick). but that is rare for me lol!
do u have a suggestion that might help with the amount of HRs by the AI? i still want them to score runs but not with just HRs"Why do they bother putting age restrictions on these things when all you have to do is click "yes, I am 18"? Even a 17 year old can figure it out." - Dr. HouseComment

Re: Die hard sliders!!
Mrshow said he is gona lower there power and play a few games so he will report his results when hes done im sure... Hopefully he comes back with some good results... one thing i do is usally try to pitch low and away to the 3,4,5 hitters in there lineup and make them earn there hitsComment

Re: Die hard sliders!!
I've played 3 games with these so far and yes the cpu hr's are too much, in one game with the Brewers Ryan Braun launched 2 off of me, and Matt Holliday hits anything.
I think the cpu pitching is perfect, makes you be more patient with the pitching.
I would maybe adjust the outfielder reaction some, along with the cpu batting.
Also, is there any way to change what the catcher is calling for pitches?Comment

Was awesome. I made some personal tweaks like contact etc but was great funComment

Re: Die hard sliders!!
Alright here we go these are stats with the changed sliders i used to pokers. Still custom pro..
Batting Power -5 at 52
Pitching Difficulty +2 at 69
Pitch Speed +6 at 72
AI Batting
Skill +10 at 60
Contact +28 at 50
Power -20 at 10
Game 1 Im the phils vs mets
Phillies 7 runs,15 hits,1 error
Mets 2 runs, 9 hits,0 errors
Utley goes 4 for 5 with 3 doubles single and 2 rbi
1hr total in the game with rollins
Moyer 7 innings 6 hits 1 er 6 k
Game 2 Same deal phils vs mets
Phillies 1 run, 4 hits, 2 errors
Mets 9 runs 15 hits 0 errors
Delgado 3 for 4 2 rbi
they scored runs from 2 sac flys
2 hrs total beltran and delgado
Oliver perez 7 ip 1 hit 0 er 1 bb 7 k
Game 3
Phillies 0 runs 6 hits 0 errors
Mets 10 runs 11 hits 0 errors
Beltran 4 for 5 4 rbi 2hr
John maine 6 ip 4 hits 0 er 0 bb 7 k
4 hrs total, with alou and delgado with the others
delgado and beltran killed me as you can see only cause i screwed up a couple pitches and left them right over the plate. But thats what makes the pitching so dynamic.
All in all they were all good games but i did get very impatient with batting especially with this guy duaner sanchez who threw sidearm that was hard as hell to hit him. But I like this alot cause its the next step up for me i guess cause i got smoked those last two games and need to be smarter with my pitches. But with these changes it seemed the AI was getting more runs from base hits. And as you can see even with me lowering their power by 20 they can still hit hrs but i think it was my pitching that gave them those.Let me know what you guys think. I will play a few more with these later to see if it gets worse or better for me.Last edited by mrshow66; 03-12-2008, 11:39 AM.Comment

Re: Die hard sliders!!
how were the games when u had the foul ball on 0. jw how much of a difference there is and what the hits are like?"Why do they bother putting age restrictions on these things when all you have to do is click "yes, I am 18"? Even a 17 year old can figure it out." - Dr. HouseComment

Re: Die hard sliders!!
i saw more hits down the line and what not.. These sliders are driving me crazy lol i just want to perfect them so we can have realistic stats ... I just tryed something in a game i played.. I turned the CPU contact and power to zero but moved there batting skill to 100... What i did was throw nothing but meatballs and they hit a lot more base hits and zero homeruns... Then i tryed it with there power at 100 and there contact and batting skill set to zero... I saw a lot of balls hit off the wall playing in fenway it was like they had the power to hit a homerun but not the skill lol.. Im pretty good at math so im gona go do some quick research on batting statisics and try to come up with a formula lol...Comment

Re: Die hard sliders!!
These are good tests, I'll be interested to see what you come up with. From my experience, power and contact need to be in the middle of the grid somewhere, and then adjust AI skill to your preference. Total control pitching has a huge effect too. From now on, I'm going to simply focus on the skill and TCP. I am using skill/power/contact at 10/40/50 as listed on the big slider thread. When my total control pitching was set too high, I was allowing major home runs and gappers. Then I lowered it a bit and basically shut the computer down with 1 run on 5 hits. The power/contact at 40/50 seems to be right on as you can still get strikeouts, but the computer can still make you pay for mistakes.Comment

Re: Die hard sliders!!
Hey I played my fourth game with the revised sliders and i was losing to colorodo 6-2 in the seventh. i had like 3 opportunities to drive in guys but failed. Tulowitzki had a grand slam and holliday homered ,the other run came off a sac fly. Ive been walking their guys a lot cause certain situations kinda force me too. But thats what makes it realistic too. oh my game froze thats why i didnt finish but it was a great game through five until hamels gave up the grand salami. These settings are hard as hell but its a great challenge. Right now i dont feel like i can win a game but im gonna keep tryin with these. At least this game was closer than the last two.Comment
