Re: NCAA Football 09 Debut Trailer
I just hope they call this penalty called facemask this year...can't remember the last time I saw one called in NCAANo refs on the field don't necessarily mean that there will be no pregame. In fact there are still penalties in the game where the refs are shown but the refs aren't on the field, it's always been that way. So one has nothing to do with the other at all.
However, with that being said my money is definitely on there being no pre-game. Why do I think that? Well mostly because in the trailer there is a screen showing customization of music and there is no team entrance music (someone painstakingly looked for it in the trailer and it's not there). So if there is no entrance music there is probably no entrance and thus no pre-game.Comment

that and the majority of game developers/publishers do the very same thing. look at the Rainbow Six Vegas 2 trailer, or any Ubi Soft game at that. Forza 2 was the same way as well. the first Halo 3 trailers had nothing to do with gameplay as well. Trailers are meant to hype a product, thats there purpose.Comment

Looks as though there won't be many defensive struggles in this years game. And as being someone who isn't that great of a thumb jockey, it looks as though I will be in for quite a few beatings playing multi player.

Looking good. Two odds things, snow in Clemson? How often does that happen? And at the end, the BC mascot doing the Heisman pose with the Notre Dame player. It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

I believe that celebration at the end was the Eagle mocking him. The video end before the celebration ends.Comment

This trailer, I thought, was pretty obviously not some artist's rendition. To compare this to the Madden Next Gen Spot is ridiculous.that and the majority of game developers/publishers do the very same thing. look at the Rainbow Six Vegas 2 trailer, or any Ubi Soft game at that. Re: NCAA Football 09 Debut Trailer
While it does seem they are putting more emphasis on offense and stick moves (which I like), I don't think we can automatically assume it will be all offense. I had a bit of a problem with last year's game in that there were too few big plays. That led to almost all scoring drives to be of the long 10-15 play, 75 yard variety which wasn't realistic. If they could find a way for the game to allow more big and exciting plays AND produce more three and outs I would be really happy. I never scored a ton of points last year but I also didn't punt enough either (I only play offline). It would be nice to have a good balance.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Debut Trailer
One thing I do wish they could do, probably will never happen, is real wind in the game. Show trees waving, if there are any, and put the american flags on the game. They have the poles in the stadium. HA Then have those flags blow in the direction the wind is blowing. But it isn't nothing too big. Don't ever see it being added.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Debut Trailer
That was tied to the fact the CPU would never throw deep. You never had to worry about getting beat for a pattern more than 20 yards cause it wouldn't even be attempted. That with the broken turnover AI was a gamekiller for me. It pigeonholed the offensive and defensive gameplay for me and made the game CPU offensive gameplan redundant. While it does seem they are putting more emphasis on offense and stick moves (which I like), I don't think we can automatically assume it will be all offense. Very true. Which is why I have a hard time believing EA won't correct this stuff for '09. I don't know of a site that didn't bitch about it. Its weird because the AI in the past gen was good in this area. I have a good feeling about '09.That was tied to the fact the CPU would never throw deep. I think part of the problem is that the NCAA team was too closely tied with the Madden team. I found myself loving NCAA late in the PS2 life and bored with Madden. Maybe as the teams start getting their own personality again, NCAA will get back to what made us all love it.Comment
