Graphics Bump confirmed. So far so good, lets see how it looks in motion and plays before I sign off on it. I'm not as sold on Madden 09 as I am on NCAA 09.

Re: Madden 09: Madden Mondays Week 2: Snow Day! Weather
I love how the QB is 10 yrds back from the offensive line and their isn't a defensive lineman anywhere near him. An by the body position of the only defensive lineman that is roaming free. He looks like he's running over to the crowd to get blocked. It will never change no matter what.Last edited by Jon22; 04-22-2008, 07:36 PM.Comment

However, it is really hard to tell from this angle if the horrible OL/DL interaction is back once again this year.
This is my biggest concern though. If they do not add a QB pocket this year, the game will not get much playing time from me.
The thing is, I do not believe the engine that they are using will support the proper player interaction to create a accurate QB pocket. They should have NEVER used that 10 year old gameplay/animation engine from the PS2/XBOX for the NextGen football games IMO.
That engine is really starting to show it's age.
Some guys are going hands on with NCAA this week so, We will know in a couple of days if the lack of a QB pocket is still in these football games.
Like you, I'll be VERY surprised if we finally will have a EA football game with a realistic QB pocket.Comment

Re: Madden 09: Madden Mondays Week 2: Snow Day! Weather
if anyone here posts at the EA forums.....can one of you ask the developer if the ICE TEAM (Sony Computer Entertainment first party technology group) really did pay them a visit and help with the PS3 version.....
I just want to know what they did over there besides help get this game to run at 60fps..... this team also help with MLB 08 which looks unbelievable......
I remember reading that this was suppose to happen....with either an interview with Ortiz, Peter Moore, or Jack Tretton....
I believe that Madden 07/08 do not use the SPUs... I'm wondering if Madden 09 does....... but I doubt it.....Comment

I was under the impression that the next gen Maddens have been using a different animation/ gameplay engine.
Atleast I remember that being their excuse for the first couple of next gen maddens. I feel that current gen still runs smoother as a whole then next gen.Comment

Re: Madden 09: Madden Mondays Week 2: Snow Day! Weather
i remember that being said about a new engine for nex gen.
after awhile people noticed problems from previous gen popping up in nex gen.
so people then starting questioning the engine itself. if it's supposed to be new then why are issues that plagued the engine last gen still present.
me personally i don't think the engine they are using is new but then again what do i know.Comment
