In his article writing debut for Operation Sports, Richard Chavez tells us what five teams are going to be overused in Madden 09 Online.

"If I had a quarter for every time I played the New England Patriots in Madden 08, I’d have been able to buy the franchise myself. In fact I got so used to seeing Tom Brady I thought I’d be the next person to have his child. But now with the newest Madden on the horizon, we’re going to take a look at some teams that may end up being the most overused online teams in ‘09. "

I dont have to look at the article and tell you the top 5 will be the Chargers, Pats, Cowboys, Vikings and drum roll please............The Oakland Raiders. They are such a cheese team now that they have McFadden and added Hall and Wilson to that D. My friend used to put Stanford Routt at WR and chuck it deep with Russell at QB. Russell can out throw the 2 man under defense

This is a nice piece and it is kinda funny that you bring this up. I always play as the Bears (online and off) and last year the only team online I lost to was the Patriots. However that happened at least 30 times because at least 90% of people pick them. It got super frustrating and led my to giving up online play. I hated the fact that even if you spotlight Moss, he could still outrun everyone else on the field and score with ease.

I definitely believe the Cowboys will be the most used, they have playmakers at key cheese positions, and their defense is fast and can blitz and cover. I am a Cowboys fan, so I for sure will be using them.

This will be the first year the Browns have been any good since Madden 96. Hopefully they play better than they did that final year before moving.

I definitely believe the Cowboys will be the most used, they have playmakers at key cheese positions, and their defense is fast and can blitz and cover. I am a Cowboys fan, so I for sure will be using them.

I was a Cowboys fan before I moved into Philly area, and I wasn't hooked onto a team yet, so that is how it is, and funny, there are a lot of Cowboys fans out here!

I don't get the patriots crap. Is moss that dominant in the game? They have nobody else that would be dominant so I fail to see why people would use them so much. In madden 08 the colts were rated higher so if people are going by ratings then wtf not use them more?

Pretty gay to pick a team in a game based on the real life season going on....

Oh and while the Pats will be the highest rated team in madden 09 the Colts (and cowboys) are more talented and should have the higher rating.

Colts offense=pats offense (remember, there is a diff of how good an offense is and running up the score) and the Colts have the better defense. Anyone who can't see the Colts are the most complete team in the nfl has issues. Despite a TON of key injuries, they went 13-3 and their only two real losses were games they should have won vs NE and San Diego (you know where they were thumping the pats with until midway in the 4th despite having 7 injured players out and then Vinatieri missing that chipshot FG vs San Diego) but blew it and then of course the junk season ending loss where the starters rested....and going into 08 season they haven't lost any major players.

As for the Pats, they were lucky to go 16-0 as they had 4 games they should have lost since they were losing late in each- Colts, Ravens, Eagles, Giants. Hell, the Pats in 07 were IMO WORSE than the Pats in 06 and of course the 03 and 04 pats teams were superior as well. Going by the record and points scored is IMO silly. Means nothing...especially when you played in that horrible afc east division.

I ain't played a ton of Madden online but whenever I played anyone they used the Colts not the Patriots. I'll be using my Cowboys online just like I have every year since Madden went online.

The Pats were easily the most used this year because of the spectacular catch. Moss was king of it. Nobody on the Colts had high spectac catch ratings, not even Harrison. You could get them to do the animation, but not as much and as seamless as you could with Moss. I'd wait to see what the new offensive glitch is first, then you will be able to easily determine the most used team.
