Would you guys catch a Sportscenter promo and think a football game was always like that? It's a video promo showcasing some of the "wow" moments of the engine. I doubt the game will be "full blown arcade" at this point.

So much negativity over a highlight video... I don't get it. Don't know if I should try. People said last year's game became boring and here they are adding some "flash" for some fun...

If I was a developer I would feel like "we just can't win."

I just wrote a little article (http://www.gtsportsmedia.com/2008/05...s-do-we-c.html) on people's expectations of video games and how they are probably too high. We used to have fun playing simple games that didn't have sliders (which I love though) or even look very pretty. There are certain things EA could do that would make everyone happy (beefing up presentation) but its extremely hard to cater to the sim vs. arcade gamer let alone the veteran gamer vs. the newbie.

I know I've been guilty in the past of expecting too much and being disappointed. I'd rather be the guy that watches a movie not expecting it to be that good and then loving it (ie. Transformers) as opposed to the guy who goes to see Spiderman 3 and is disappointed when it isn't as good as the first two movies.
Good points guys. I (and a lot of us) are guilty of this. I don't know if my expectations are growing at hyper-speed because I am getting older (31 years of age) or because some other games that I have played are just outstanding and have raised the bar.

Honestly, I know when July rolls around, I will be like a little kid the night before Christmas. I played at least 70-80 games of '08 last year on 360, but the frustration from the CPU INT issue wore me down. If that is fixed, I will be taking a day-off to play this sucker like I have historically. The release date has been on the house calendar for the last four years. Yes, my wife is amazed at my ability to be a professional and a little kid at the same time. I'm not alone, am I fellas?!
