I really like how the hash marks and numbers are faded on the natural grass field instead of being bright white. It gives it a realistic look IMO.Last edited by blackngoldfan; 05-12-2008, 10:36 PM.Comment

I am going to reserve judgment until I see the camera in action.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Well, the last paragraph says that there will also be "classic camera angles" included. So either the writer of the article does not know Madden has had only 1 camera angle on next-gen systems, or there will be classic camera angles, meaning multiple angles from last gen. I dunno. What do you think?Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: Madden 09 Mondays Week 5: See All of the Action With the New Cam
After seeing this... I'm not sure I like it, because it's kind of disorienting. The 2K series has the option where you can have the camera rotate for the QB and/or the ball carrier, and while it's not quite the same thing it doesn't work too well.
I think a better solution would be to have the right stick control the where the QB looks, and it could also serve as a way to look off any safeties trying to read the QB. Basically it'd be like a simplified vision cone, WITHOUT the ridiculous cone. It'd work like this:
-The field would be divided into three areas: left, center, and right. Flicking the stick once would would switch to the adjacent area, while holding it would allow you to switch from left to right and vice versa.
-For an out route to the left, a quick flick to the left with the right stick turns the QB's head and rotates the camera slightly... Just enough to see the route, but not to the point of swinging the camera so that it's hard to keep track of the action.
-For a streak play down the right hand side against a cover one, you flick left to throw off the safety, then hold it to the right until the camera rotates to make the throw.
-If you're looking left and throw right, your accuracy will drop, but if you keep the camera center then your accuracy will remain the same regardless of what area you throw to... In other words, keep it simple and don't penalize people unless they try to do something totally unrealistic.
Eh... Just a thought.
edit: And keep the movement with the left stick in relation to the field, and NOT the camera... Because that'd definitely throw people off.All ties severed...Comment

Re: Gamestop Madden Monday
"Since you can't see him, you're not quite sure if the corner is barreling down on him, if he fell down, or if you're completing a pass to the guy holding the down marker."
I have never seen a player "fall down" due to EA never putting something like that in the game.Comment

to comment about the "air blocking" this reminds me of a quote from that movie Gridiron Gangs................Both plays where pass plays so the olineman was doin wat he is suppose to be doing altho the animation could have been better but thats judging from a pic, it would have been nice to see him dbl team the Dlineman who was about to sack the QB but olineman has a role just like a WR do......like somebody said before if it was a RUN play then yea it wouyld be messed upComment

I'm sure he did, but when you complete your route, you don't stand there like a stick in the mud, so that you are easily covered. You should either keep coming back to the QB or adjust to get open.
Standing there like a dip-s*** doesn't accomplish anything.Comment

HAHAHAHA...that is the truth. Pretty hard to run into the chain gang that doesn't exist as well.Comment
