    Re: The Leap: NBA 2K9

I'm still trying not to hold my breath waiting on for news on the whole Take Two takeover by EA. Who knows if we'll even see another NBA 2K game.

If we've played our last NBA 2K game, we'll all have to thank the same guys who took the NFL 2K games away from us to avoid the competition.

But back to topic, I agree with the article's ratings of the players. I'd say Hedo is a matchup problem for most teams without a tall enough defensive forward.

86 is normal for Hedo, but Lamarcus doesn't deserve 89.I can agree if it is 83-84.

If your factoring in DEFENSE in these ratings, then I don't agree w/ them at all. All of these adjusted ratings are for players known for their offense, not defense(Chris Paul gets many steals a game, but that's b/c he gambles on D way too often) As long as the attributes are editable like they have been, oh and IF 2K9 drops (which it should) then I guess we can change what we don't agree w/.

        Transformers: War For Cybertron (DS)
        Guitar Hero 5 (Wii)
        Band Hero (Wii)
        MUA2 (PS3/XBox 360)
        Hax Attacks (iPad/iPhone)

          Re: The Leap: NBA 2K9

The thing I hate about most roster sets is that people have a PRESET overall rating that a person should be, so that forces them to inflate specific attributes that have NO business being inflated, to achieve that overall rating.

Thats why overalls should be done away with.

Gay is an 84, max. Brandon Roy 86. You guys went crazy with this one. Chris will probably be a 97 and top 5 in the game.

Give Gay the 89, its not like its going to shift the balance of the game online. But i'll appreciate it if it does happen.

what makes you say 2k is on the down? IMO its the strongest its ever been and on the up ( iono how much better it can get than 2k8 ) I bought this game when it came out and i still play it every other day if not everyday.

I think youre confused and got mixed up with the game Madden. That game disgraces the NFL logo.

I remember when NBA 2k2 had Jermaine O'neal rated a 90+. This was right before he became worthy of the rating. However that year he was basically a KG clone with the rebounds, points and blocks. Those were the days when they really didn't pay attention to overall but just rated guys to their specific abilities. Which made guys who were great in several categories better than guys who were unstoppable in just a few.

Agree w/xion_one on CP3. I'd say a 97 is accurate. You know Lebron will be a 98-99 & Kobe a 99, not sure you can put CP3 the same rating as those 2 but at the same time, that is just knitpicking tho. It wouldn't be like a major, noticeable difference in play, just hierarchy.

I totally agree w/the posters that say Aldridge 89 is way high. He is a good promising big but, he is still way too inconsistent w/still no inside post game/back to the basket yet. Some games he's a total beast in points & rebounds & other games, he totally disappears. There's sure as hell, no way he should be rated higher than Roy.

and I didn't mind those days ... I remember having a starting CPU-created PG and SG in NBA 2k4 that were rated a 62 and a 67, but both were ridiculous behind the arc... they both averaged 17 ppg, and I ended 17-11 (I'm a short season type of guy). That was fun.

I can't believe you guys don't think Gay deserves that rating. Someone said his defense would bring it down? WTF? He is a monster on both ends. Aldridge, probably around 85. Turkaglu desevres that rating, no doubt. Roy does as well.

agreed... his defense is actually an asset to his game... I don't know where that even came from... someone who doesn't watch the Grizzlies obviously.

LOL @ Seriously believing an 89 isn't too much for Rudy.

90 is elite. The BEST in the league are 90+.

Rudy go isn't even in the 2nd tier of wings in the league yet, but he deserves an 89?

His defense has been criticized since his days @ UCONN and is STILL being criticized.

But according to yall he gets it done @ both ends.

                                Yea ok
