Im not asking you to..or not to.

I haven't played the game, so I can't know...and neither can you. Anything we say about it would be pure conjecture...despite what we "know" from previous versions. Pasta's impressions were overall quite positive, but I'm sure that's a"red flag" also
This remark is beyond dumb. Have I at any point said Ive played the game? This is pointing out the obvious. Does it make you feel better to affirm this by putting it into words...that Ive come to this conclusion based on not having played the game? What your missing is that I may not even want to play the game so what youre really saying is a moot point. When I see warning signs like this, I want to play it less and less. I dont have to play it before forming an opinion. EA isnt entitled to people giving it a chance. They need to step up.

No. Theres no conflict. I was enumerating problems in the past that were tied to the inability to spring long runs.

Please note, I am giving Madden/EA it's props on what they have/are trying to achieve. But the lack of running game being shown in any vid concerns me. I truly believe Pasta is being kind or conservative with his comment due to the fact he feels he has to play more (but damn, he played a couple of complete games!). My question to EA is what is the sense of showing the Peterson/LT running animation Vids if it is not being done in actual gameplay??

Here is a running play in Madden 09. Sorry animation with the running back carrying the defender on his back. Once again, they need to cancel this out of their code all together:

Again (if you read my edit) my apologies for jumping down your neck. If you don't want to play it don't...I honestly don't mind either way. What I don't understand is the point of coming on a Madden forum (which currently-as in literally right now-has a Madden developer on here) and gripe about everything without any suggestion as to what you want. You claim they won't listen, yet when they ask for feedback "it's a waste of time." Isn't pointing out every flaw with no constructive feedback also a waste of time? Maybe it just depends on the individual.

Here is the thing. My level of expectation is that the game is much further along than it is. I just asked Ian a question about seeing zone blocking in Madden pretty much knowing what the answer is. I think its a fair question in that the game should be much further along than it is. But when I ask questions people think Im just being a jerk and trying to hold their feet to the fire since they seem too pointed or unrealistic. Im not settling. The game should be much further along than it is and so a lot of my questions/concerns seem like a waste of time when I know its predicated on where the franchise should be as opposed to where it actually is.

It's REALLY disappointing you can't change the depth chart for online play. Many times the EA default roster is inaccurate and it should be ultimately up the user how they want there depth chart organized. I liked to put certain pass rushers in. Sometimes I like to put bruiser backs in at running back and the receivers with the best awareness and hands.

How many camera angles are there I still have an older 4:3 format television as many others do. The one camera angle really made it difficult for us to play.

The sliders won't work for online play correct? So that kinda defeats the purpose. Too bad users just can't have an option to use or to not use identical slider adjustments for online play.

                          Question about presentation?

The last second fieldgoal video, is there any excitement on the part of the announcer? It looks like the game just ends there.

                          Thanks

So on to the running game issue, it was just an observation on my part. I'm not even sure if everyone else there felt the same way. Thinking back on it I had one run that went for about a 30 yard TD, that I had nothing to the inside and bounced outside. Other than that though most runs were in the loss to 11 yard range. It just seemed like most of the time it was "tough yards" that were being gained on the ground. It should probably be considered that with limited experience breaking out of animations/tackles that could be a factor as well.

I don't remember the announcing at that point, but the video was off a replay and not live footage. I believe Russell may have recorded that kick live though.

That sounds like the running game is modeled pretty accurately then. With the exception Peterson seeming to have tons of highlight plays off the running game last year, in the NFL the running game is definitely more about steady production than ripping off several big plays per game. And you said that you didn't have an issue with production so it seems pretty good overall.

Great coverage on your site btw really enjoyed it.
