Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

just the Wii, bought it used along with some games, a wavebird, a wheel and component cables from a friend.

I want to know more about the virtual console. Is there a list where I can see all the games on it as well as prices for them?

Also, how much would an extra wheel/wii mote nunchak combo cost? I have Mario Kart and I want friends to be able to even using the wheel when playing.

I heard online only works through bluetooth, what kind of devices do I need to get to get this thing working online?

    Thanks for the help guys.

Here's a list of the titles on the VC and the price (assuming you are North American). 100 Wii points equals $1, so NES games are 500 points or $5.

Mine is online wirelessly through my Linksys router, it's not bluetooth. The system doesn't have an ethernet port though, so you need to connect wirelessly. I think there might be a ethernet dongle to connect through but I don't do that so I can't offer much knowledge on that.

You need to download WiiWare. Once you do that, there's an option in there for DS demos. That's one of my favorite things. My daughter loves it too since she has a DS.

For the demos? We tried out the Cake Mania 2 demo and I had already tried out the CrossworDS demo. Most of the demos only have 1 level or a few minutes worth of playing. I haven't found one yet that actually allows you to play as if you just bought the game. I haven't tried all of them though.

Re: Wii Online and Virtual Console Discussion

My fiance just got the Wii and I'm not even gonna lie, I've been secretly planning my takeover of it.

MarioKart is off the charts in terms of fun factor and she's pretty much only interested in the old nintendo titles (VC titles etc...). I'm more into trying games like Zelda, Super Smash, etc...

My question is, Do I need to buy a classic or other controller to enjoy these games or can i play with just the wiimote & chukka?

Some VC games require you to use either the Classic Controller or Gamecube controller. I like the Classic Controller for the SNES games on the VC. As for Wii games, the wiimote and nunchuck will be all you need, but some games like Mario Kart and Super Smash are compatible with other controller types (I use the Gamecube controller on both).
