Re: NHL 09 First Look: GameSpot
I'm sure thats what he meant. I believe he was more refering to there being so many more animations with the new system EA is using that you don't see a hip check for every big hit like you do in 08.Comment

Wouldn't you prefer to have Eddie around, if only for the laugh factor? We seldom see the likes of his trolling on OS' boards. His 'I hate EA' voracity is comical, really.Comment

Re: NHL 09 First Look: GameSpot
I dont see the bashing. You guys are the ones turning it into 2k.net. Your defensive about EA's game now its total role reversal.
Comparison within the 2 games is acceptable surely.Comment

Re: NHL 09 First Look: GameSpot
This will be an interesting year, with Kush finally taking a powder and handing the reigns over to a real sports design company, coupled with 08 revitalizing hope in EA's series..... could make for the first year I actually play the full version of each game.Comment

Sorry Jimmy, but you'll have to forget what your parents told you. Boogeymen and trolls ARE real. And OS has its fair share of them I'm afraid.Comment

Re: NHL 09 First Look: GameSpot
I really hope that they have changed the dev-team to this year. The team that has made the game for the last two-three years has stinked big time. For example and the most important thing: They havent taken away the opportunity to make cheese-cheating goals. Thats really bad and terrible.Comment

Re: NHL 09 First Look: GameSpot
The dev team making this game is one of my favorites. They listen to fans, and really have a mindset of making the best game possible, and making necessary changes. Every game is going to have cheese. That's pretty unavoidable. 08 is up near the most realistic hockey game I've ever played.I really hope that they have changed the dev-team to this year. Re: NHL 09 First Look: GameSpot
Uh,no,and besides good luck at ever ridding the world of cheese goals and such. They would have to make the game near impossible to even come close and even then there are too many that spend the first hours they have a game finding these weaknesses.I really hope that they have changed the dev-team to this year. Re: NHL 09 First Look: GameSpot
Believe me, I've read the reviews and the anecdotal stories and tried the demo as well, but I don't feel like I missed anything. I'd love to play a game offline that provides as much as it does/can online. I don't want to turn this into a 2K vs EA thread at all. I've played EA in the past and liked it. I turned to 2K and liked it, but both games had their issues. I got together with the right group of guys this year to play online for 2K, and yes, the offline brand was basically guano. I don't like having to learn two different sets of controls for two different games. I'll still end up settling on owning only one next year. If VC struggles to get a revamped 2K to their standards and ours, EA may be sitting on my shelf.Comment

Yes we know you do not like NHL 08 and that's fine and dandy. However, you aren't going to sell any of us on 2K8 either,so why continue to post here?Oh,that's right there is no one posting on the 2K forums.Comment
