And I didn't see the game tonight, but I read Rolen, Rios and Barajas all had day offs...

WE HAVE A DAY OFF TOMORROW.

    Our manager is an imbecile.

Rios had the day off because he has tight groin, but Rolen and Barajas I think was just rest. As much as they have played lately, we have 3 days off in the next 12. They should get plenty of rest just on those off days. However, Inglett was basically Rolen's replacement and he was the only one that was any good at the plate and Thigpen called a good game and made a great defensive play, so how bad were the moves anyways? I question using Ryan for the ninth instead of Camp or Carlson. BJ just doesn't seem to pitch as well in non-save situations, even if he did get squeezed in this one...

Here's something I learned the other day and it's just for discussion purposes but Gibby only makes $660K. Toronto is a mid to upper echelon market despite what Godfrey and the higher ups say so why the hell is our manager being paid beans when the GM is getting the big bucks?

This franchise needs a blood transfusion.

It's a damn shame that Paul Beeston is enjoying life in retirement as i'd hire him and try to get Terry Ryan back into the fray as a GM. Hell, if total control is what it takes to get the guy here i'd give him carte blanche!

Colangelo-ize the team, hey? It virtually instantly restored the Raptors to repectability, and the Jays are nowehere close to as bad shape as the Raptors were in. The real question is who is sitting out there looking for work (or maybe looking to leave their current posting) that the Jays can go get? And do we really believe that Godfrey is going to deep-six his buddy JP before his 2010 contract expiry, because I sure don't.

That was a nice win tonight. I watched the Chicago broadcast and my goodness, Casper and Brenly beat the crap out of the South Siders. Yes they got off on some tangents It really got on my nerves when they tried talking about the CFL at one point. Thankfully the inning ended or i'd have to change the channel due to their ignorance.

Nice to see lady luck smile on the Jays with that umpire interference call. I'm actually surprised that does happen more often then it does. Oh and great gesture by the fans with that ovation for Reed. BTW he'll be starting tomorrow.

Definitely a nice win, good confidence boost for the pen.

On to today, and early in this one it doesn't look good. 4 runs all with two outs against Doc? Including a 3-run shot by Johnson? What's going on here? I realize it is early but I have to say if I thought there was one game we would lose in this series it wasn't this one.

I woke up late today so I missed all the scoring so far but what happened? Did Doc look like he just didn't have it or was he being squeezed or what?

This was the lead pipe lock game in this series IMO and it looks like it's going to be a loss.

He got squeezed once or twice but Doc highly uncharacteristically fell behind a large number of the hitters. He didn't get helped by Eck's error, but he still gave up the hits and the homer, so...

And why the hell did Inglett, Rios, and Stairs all watch hanging breaking balls go by them with the bases loaded?! We had a chance to get back in the game, not I think we could have come all the way back anyways, but we gave Marmol outs there.

Vernon Wells' lackof patience is baffling.

Three great at-bats to load the bases on 3 walks by Mac, Rios and Rolen and he goes after the first pitch.

Any other situation I wouldn't be as mad. We all know Vernon likes to turn on first pitch fastballs. But when the pitcher has 3 base on balls in the inning, you have to use better judgement.

I think I am probably one of the most patient people around when it comes to my teams, but even now I am at the point where something needs to be done and it needs to happen now. Fire someone, trade someone, I don't really care anymore I am just so sick of seeing great pitching performances pissed away by an inability to score more than 2 times a game. I realize Camp's struggles today put this one out of reach, but if we had tied it or even gotten it to 3-2 earlier maybe its a different situation.

Yeah something needs to be done. I have a feeling that if the Jays finish under .500 on the road trip we could end up seeing some big changes.

Man, does anyone here ever read the Jays official message board? That place is a cesspool of idiocy and negativity. 95% of the threads there fall into three categories: Fire Gibbons/Denbo, trade some fringe players for all-stars, or trade our stars for fringe players. I go there when I get bored but I almost end up coming away angry at some fool I've never even met.

So, as difficult as trades may be in mid-June, should the Jays not do well on this road trip what do you all think happens? I have to believe based on JP's comments about the roster that someone's head will roll, or (far more likely IMO) absolutely nothing because JP won't touch any of his buddies on staff.

You should read Wilner's blog. The folks there are a tad more intelligent and Wilner actually adds his comments to your posts as well.

I don't know what will happen. I have a feeling though that someone will be fired at some point. There's way too much heat on the Jays front office now. They can't sit idly by and let this team turn to crap on a stick.
