Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
It must just depend on the television and setup. Although there were certain things that seemed to look better on the PS3 version, the field and the actual colors, but the overall look of the game looks more polished on the 360 on my tv.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
I think that the game is great, but I always have a lot of fun with NCAA. My only complaint is that it is very hard to see the formations on the play call screen, because of the team logo in the background. Other than that I love it!!
Sometimes I wish I had never found forums like these, because I can't help myself from reading about something wrong in the game and then going and looking for it. When 90% of the things I never would have noticed. Sometimes I wish I could still be a kid and play video games for fun!

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
That doesn't matter just get some of the lesser known college commentators to come in for a month or two and start over from scratch. Until then the presentation in this series will be lackluster.<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=37></TD><TD style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(/vBulletin/images/quotes/02.gif); WIDTH: 100%; HEIGHT: 14px" width="100%"></TD><TD width=18>
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>Honestly if what Adam says is true, that they added 10% new commentary, 5,000 more lines to the existing 50,000 lines, then I doubt you'll do a whole lot better even with no-name guys unless you expect them to re-record the game commentary every single year. As long as they are carrying over commentary from the previous year we all just have to accept that we're going to hear some things again and again and again. I don't think it has anything to do with the current announcing team.

one word same game just enough changes to lure everyone in. How can ea keep doing this the lack of atmosphere, sidelines are horrible, qiurky animations. That injury thing of rolling around on ground is horrid. Sorry guys sam game just a few more textures.Comment

Is it worth downloading? I've been spoiled by APF 2K8 gameplay but I am definitely not happy with it's lack of franchise but recent EA football games have blown major ball'sComment

The play-by-play and commentary, no doubt, is old... but I like hearing these guys. It's the least of the problems with presentation IMHO. To me, the problem with presentation has to do more with the atmosphere and some of the little (or big) things that they can add to make it more like a college game.... team entrances, more tv style replays (maybe with toggle to allow user to decide few or more, and a button to bypass), appropriate cutscenes or pans to players on the field or on the sidelines, fans in the crowd, the head coach, etc., pre-game, halftime, or post game show (again w/ ability to bypass for those that don't want to watch). Being a person that plays 95% single player dynasty mode, it's very important to me that they upgrade the presentation... and very soon (NCAA 2010). Right now, the presentation level is below LG, IMO and they need to top that.Comment

Also guys this is an older version of the game its not the same one we played at Community Day two dead give aways.
1. Ryan P. is still on LSU's roster he was taken out of our builds rosters.
2. The kickoff coverage isn't the same. For instance just catch the ball stand still for a couple of seconds and then sprint towards the sideline you should be able to return a decent number or kicks for TD's.
In our build they fixed this but it has a negative effect as well. While you can't do the above. The side effect is that damn near all kick off returns will get to the 35 to 45 yardline.Comment

Well said- I mainly play SP as well. Great presentation can take a good series to the next level, like College Hoops. One reason I got bored real quick (among others) with APF was the absolute lack of presentation. The play-by-play and commentary, no doubt, is old... but I like hearing these guys. It's the least of the problems with presentation IMHO. Look at the Show for instance- you have Vasgersian talking about the most specific details about players, stadiums, etc. The great overlays only add to that atmosphere. It gives the game so much life. I feel like I'm going through the motions when I play this demo- I certainly didn't get that feeling last gen.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
Wow...this is absolutely unacceptable. WTH is up with taking features out of the game?!?!?! Especially something thats been in for years. Geez.
Heres my take on the demo. Good for what it is. I'll buy the game still, despite what I just found out about the lighting.
-I think the players are too slow. I got in the open filed with LSU's RB, and it's like he started taking choppy baby steps even when I was holding down turbo
-The up front pass blocking is still too iffy for me.
-The evening lighting looked terrible. Way too washed out and orange-ish
It's def a step in the right direction from 2008. But we cant keep taking steps back.....by the way, does this lighting issue mean there will no longer be moving shadows across stadiums?Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
What I did not mention was it was on 2 different TV's. That could explain why I feel like the PS3 version looks a little better plus the PS3 is on the better Flat screen. At least the gameplay is on an even playing field as far as I can tell. Peace!!!!!The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment
