I blogged my impressions after giving both fair gameplay.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
I've played about 9 times so far, 5 OSU and 4 LSU. And in each of the nine games I returned an interception for a touchdown.
I am praying this is due to Varsity.Comment

Not sure how it can run smoother than the PS3 version since in gameplay it runs smooth as butter. It also hitches pre-snap after the the play is picked. This happened in every next gen version though.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
That's a relief, I was afraid night games were the "dusk" games.
I love the WR catch animations (Jump catch may get old in a dynasty) but other then that...money.
The QB animation has to be the worst animation I have ever seen in a game. The ball always seems to come out at the wrong time or something. Just doesn't look natural at all and is very distracting.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
are any of you having an issue of the QB lining up just slightly to the side of the center and on replay the football has no rotation while the ball is in the airI guess everyone has different experiences but, so far through a few games on both systems, I think the PS3 controls are a little more responsive. In fact, the only control issue I have with either system is the formation subs being mapped to the right stick. It seems like it takes me alot longer to get the grouping I want compared to previous versions.Comment

It's great to see the hitch play works now and isn't an automatic pick-6 like in past versions of NCAA.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

QFTsome of you guys have to remember even in the nfl or college football turnovers can be few or abundant. How would you like a game that that had a no turnover logic. A game that did whatever was needed to disallow a turnover by the computer. I say this because I played 6 games and saw legit turnovers that happened during desperate times for the cpu. With such little time what do you expect the qb to do when time is short and they're trying to score at the end of the half or game.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
Ok. I am feeling better about the turnovers. Just played another game and was again Ohio State and cpu was LSU. In game one, they threw 3 picks. In game 2, they threw 2 TD's and no picks. His reads were better and never threw the ball into coverage. Still not feeling the commentary or atmosphere.
One cool thing. I sent the game into OT after throwing a fly route to my receiver and the CB batted the ball into the air and it was caught by one of my other receivers and taken to the house.
This game had a nice ebb and flow to it and had me pumping my fists and yelling. Why does that matter? Because folks, I was into the game. I am starting to get that warm fuzzy feeling on the inside and can't wait for release day.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Same here. I'm at the point of diving once my AI teammate gets an INT. Which happens 2-3 times a game. Definitely going to rent this game first, I'm massively disappointed. Not surprised at all, though. The greatest team in the history of sports.

I'd have to agree the commentary sucks....these are the same commentaries on the old gen games. I don't think they have busy schedules other than families to be with.....plus it's not like they have to meet at one location, they normally go to a Studio, do their lines and then edit it together at the end.....NCAA is in need of some new blood as far as commentaries go .....can we get Chris Berman or Oh Nelly how bout Keith Jackson !!!!!!The University of Miami

Well, having played some games Im a little worried about the CPU Qbs thowing off their back foot..I still think they do it far too much
However I got a pretty good feeling from the gameplay(certainly not the presentation).
Though I'll admit I got my hopes up too high for this thing and feel somewhat disappointedLast edited by SteelerSpartan; 06-19-2008, 08:47 PM.Here We Go Steelers!!! Here We Go!!!

The better bet would be to go with a lower profile second team and have the lower tier matchups use that team. Then the rival and bigger games use the Corso group. You would get some variety. The lower profile group i would assume would be cheaper and thus could be in the studio for more recording.I'd have to agree the commentary sucks....these are the same commentaries on the old gen games. Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
I just had an amazing ending and thought I'd share. I was LSU and Ohio St scored to tie it up with 8 seconds left. I return it to my 40 with 2 seconds left and then look under Hail Mary in the playbook and see the play "Circus". I look at it and then realize it is a hook and lateral type play like Boise St ran. I drop back and realize OSU is playing prevent and the in route from the left is open. I throw complete the pass and just as my receiver is about to get leveled I hit the left trigger and he pitches it to the underneath receiver running in the opposite direction. He turns the corner and outruns the OSU DB's to the house. I was literally going crazy and thought it was cool that they included that play.Comment
