Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
I agree. The demo is good but I'm not crazy about it. There still isn't enough time to feel the controls out like you would do a practice mode. I wish they would just let the demo be 10 min quarter. I played both on Xbox and PS3 and they are pretty much the same. I do like the PS3 version better. Question: Anyone who has played the game with teh Dual Shock 3 controller does it vibrate with game? (PS3 version)
I have played the 360 demo and currently downloading the ps3 version so I'm trying to decide which system I want to get it for...PSN & Xbox Gamertag - TheCrenshaw
Eagles - Season ticket holder!!!
Phillies
JMU Football season ticket holder
UVA Football, Basketball & Baseball
76ers
Flyers
Currently playing Madden 23(XBX) and FFXVI , and PGA 2K23(PS5)Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
I just seems slightly smoother but to be honest...I'm getting it for PS3 because the 360 is a P.O.S. It could red ring at any given moment for nothing. Just the other night my wireless controller wouldn't sync with the Xbox and customer service said pay 100 dollars and we'll look at it to see what's wrong with it. A 100 DOLLARS?! I never ever had to get a system fixed. Anyhow I ended up unplugging it from the wall then hooking it back up and it read my controller finally. I don't want to be in the midde of my dynasty/franchise and the 360 just dies for nothing. That's why I'm going to get it for PS3 but it does seem smoother.Provided by yours truly

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
Couple cool things I have noticed after playing about 10 games.
1. My QB threw a ball on a comeback route and the receiver jumped to catch it but it was way over his head for an incomplete pass.
2. I dove over a defender with Wells, but he got me as I was overtop of him, causing me to flip in the air and come down hard.
3. DBs will sometimes pick up a an incomplete pass and run with it while looking back.
4. SCREEN PASSES
5. CPU went deep a few times. One was on a 3rd and inches.
6. CPU back to pass, my LB is on coverage of a WR and the WR cut in and the cpu must have thought he was going to cut out and threw the ball way behind him right into my hands.Comment

Honestly I don't think some of the guys who hate it are giving it a fair chance. I just don't see how some could say its not improved. I think the people who don't like it already made up their mind before they even played it. I mean damn, this game feels so different then 08 its crazy. Tons more anims, improved graphics, players have weight and momentum. I for one cant wait till July 15th.
I played the PS3 version last night and the main difference was the lighting/color was somewhat different. Not sure which I liked the best as far as that goes. On the field the 360 seemed a bit more smoother but overall both looked and played great IMO. Can't go wrong with either.
I also like the 360 controller better and the fact I'm in a 360 league (LIVE all the way) I'll be getting the 360 version.Joshua:

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
I think it's a testament to how much an improvement this game is and will be with much of the community already pleased with the demo, along with guys like russell05 stating the demo is nowhere near the community day version. If this demo is as early of a build as it is claimed to be, then this might be one of the best NCAAs to come out in a long time, at least the best next gen NCAA. Granted, there were a few game glitches, but other than that I loved the demo. If russell05 is right about the community day version being that much better than this demo, I think we're all in for a big treat. Let's also all remember that the game is still almost a month away from being released. With all of the feedback they're getting from the community day and the demo, EA (hopefully) will make the tweaks needed, as they will have an ample of amount of time. Besides the glitches and whatnot, I saw no glaring flaws in gameplay. Of course, the demo is on varsity which will be considerably different from the retail version's AA and Heisman difficulties, but I still had plenty of fun and will most likely go back to the demo in the coming weeks if anything to hone my skills and get myself psyched up for the retail version.Comment

A lot of people loved 08 at first before they realized how bad the turnovers wereProud member of the OS Bills Backers.

I don't know if there is a rule against this, but I thought you can't have 2 players with the same number on the field at the same time.
I swore using OSU I had 2 number 20's on the kickoff squad.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
I have two questions for ya.
1. Have you played the near final build of the game?
2. Have you played the near final build of the game against a human opponent?
I'm sure the answer to both of those questions is no so you don't know what you are talking about. The demo is from a build back in May its not the build all the community leaders played at Tiburon.
Everyone who played the builds at community came to the conclusion that the game lacked a decent pass rush against spread offensives. We tried everything from my personal exp. in the game against Rhombic where he had T.Tech and I had UGA. I could not get any pressure on his QB at all. I threw everything at that offense and nothing worked blitzing 4 didn't work, blitzing 5 didn't work, I even sent the house a couple of times 7 man blitz didn't matter.
We tested this for over 4 hours nothing worked the producers even said yeah its a problem. When you play the finished version of the game online against somebody using Florida, Missu, T.Tech, or WVU we can revisit this issue. As a matter of a fact I'll give you a little secret you want to complete over 90% of your passes in the demo? This is how you do it it doesn't matter if you are O.State or LSU. Call all shotgun pass plays when you snap the ball just start dropping back no need to sprint just hold back on the L stick and when you find a reciever open pass it to him. It will be money every time heck even if some defenders do break free they won't even be able to touch ya.
I may just rent this game to upload the player names into Madden..Last edited by kingkid1313; 06-20-2008, 09:45 AM.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
Two of the concerns I had with the game were made into bigger issues then they are.
The pass rush is not that bad and it's about on par with the past games. Granted we are playing varisty, but I got decent pressure with my front 4 and the computer go decent pressure on me. Now when I take over at Baylor and I play Texas and I can't come close to the QB without bringing a blitz, it might change my mind.
The other issues was the quick snapping by the computer QB. Really, it's enough time. I wish I had a couple of more seconds, but I think that was way overblown as well.Comment

I agree with Russel05, that this demo was way to easy. I played it yesterday and really havent felt motivated to play it again. Not to bash anyone but if you guys are struggling against the CPU on Varsity level, regardless of which team you are, then your stick skills have a lot to be desired. As Russell mentioned when your in shotgun and roll out of the pocket, because there is no pressure, it's money all day to hit an open receiver. Then if your on defense all you have to do is play a cover 2 zone in the red zone and CPU will throw a pick. I had 4 picks against the CPU all returned back for a touchdown..
