Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
The only area that seems too slow to me is RBs in the back field. It is like they are running in quicksand. Once they get past the LOS it is fine. I wonder if this was done on purpose or it is just my imagination.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
I had to visit a friend who's in the hospital last night, so I only got a couple of games in before I had to give up and head to bed. Based on that limited sample the demo is passing the all-important "did you want to play it again?" test with flying colors.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
I think I remember seeing the Heisman pose but it wasn't something that the user activated. It either happened automatically or was part of the mascot interaction. And yeah the stadiums do empty out and it can look pretty neat with basically only the band, student section, and random fans here and there.Comment

This game SUCKS!!!!!!
All I hear is about how the EA guys put in a tremendous amount of hours and work hard. If this is the bleep they come out with for all that hard work then they should all be fired. The demo is complete garbage!!!!!Comment

I think the game is a tad bit too slow, but I understand some people like it at that speed.
So why not have the ability to adjust the game speed like APF? I know way back when NCAA had the ability (or was that Gamebreaker?).Comment

Re: NCAA Football 09 Demo Available: Discuss Here
I understand what you are saying, but while a play is going I am not listening to the announcers, and the Corso/Herbie stuff is so repetitive it is all you remember.
One thing that I am disappointed at.. is the play by play. We made huge changes in how this is triggered and nobody has noticed. All I have seen reaction to is how the post-play is the same. On 08, it was "Takes the snap... looking for a man... fires it... pulls it in... tackled!" That isn't realistic and you won't hear that on 09. Oh well.
I think this year will be the first that I do not have announcers at all and just have crowd and player noises.Comment

Then there are a lot of people here that have low expectations. Of course, this is what EA wants.
The game play just isn't right. I could care less about the cosmetics (grass, hair, color, shoes). The game still doesn't feel right. If it doesn't feel right then it isn't fun.
Varsity isn't that far off from AA and passing is just way to easy. You can complete any pass at will.
I think "Wide Open Offense" is an excuse for, "We suck at programming a realistic football game."
Meanwhile, the running game seems to be BROKEN again. The fun factor just isn't there.
At least I can save my cash for the good games coming out late in the fall.Last edited by heavy_hitter; 06-20-2008, 10:58 AM.Comment
