Yeah, man to man works better than zone, but with man to man it seems impossible to stop the slant passes.

Pass accuracy slider will hopefully work this year!

Suggestion for '09: Throwing power slider AND throwing accuracy slide

I had the most success stopping the pass when I didn't quit on the play and didn't switch players. The better my play, the better the chance a DB would break up the pass. This includes going hard after the QB, but it also means turning upfield staying with the play (again, without switching) after the ball is thrown. Basically, the better I play my position, the better the rest of the AI reacts and swarms.

Switching guys, I've noticed, seems to cause the defense to "reset," whereas sticking with one player and staying with the play causes the defense to follow your lead, so to speak.

Put another way, if you're not seeing a lot of batted balls, or if you're seeing poor coverage more generally, it probably has something (even a lot) to do with how well you're performing at whichever position you're attempting to play. If you're playing as a down lineman and think you've got no chance on the play and switch guys, that's a good formula for not getting much done on that play.

i have to agree zone coverages are usually what makes the cpu pick me apart.

I just popped in 08 last nite to try it again and 09's players are so much more realistic in their movements and of course the grass is noticeably better in 09. The only thing bout 09 is that i see too much of the lower leg bending backwards tackle !!!!!

You are right though. A game speed slider would be awesome.
I actually respectfully disagree with you, IMHO the speed is too fast and it makes the players animations look and feel all spastic sometimes. It also turns the game in to more of a twitch fest on how fast you can press buttons rather than how well you can read, recognize and react to a play.

I realize that football is a fast game, but when playing All-Pro Football on speeds other than fast, I still "feel the heat" when playing quarterback but the gameplay doesn't feel like I just have to quickly mash buttons to be successful. There are plays in NCAA 09 where the QB hikes the ball, drops back and the ball is thrown and I barely even get a chance to do (1) swim move with the D-Lineman, and I'm not talking about WR quick screens either....the game speed/tempo just feels too rushed and spastic to me...

I do agree that game speed sliders/settings would be a great addition to NCAA 2010.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but I didn't want to go through 140+ pages to check:

If you log out of XBOX Live and set your system date to December, you get to play at night instead of dusk. Looks nice.

I'm actually considering getting the wii version. IT reminds me of my favorite ncaa...nca football 06. The 1 with desmond howard on the cover.

I've tried to read most of this thread, and I apologize if I missed this, but has anyone seen the CPU go deep? I've played the demo about 20 times, and can't remember it happening.

I don't think going deep is in this build. Apparently, it's in the final build.

Has anyone broke one loose yet?

I've only had one rushing touchdown outside of the redzone. I figured this 'wide open gameplay' meant more of being able to make yourself look like Barry Sanders while the defense makes themselves look silly, but i've really yet to do either.

I guess i'm just not all that good when it comes to the sticks.

Man, I have had some fun playing this demo. I think I had more fun in the demo than in the game last year. The news that this is an early build combined with the fun factor makes me very excited for release day. Despite the negativity - and I have brought some of it myself, I am pretty optimistic about this game. I really don't understand the sack comments - seeing plenty of them - but I am blitz happy anyway. But I have learned to be careful about the blitz after seeing some of those screens go for looong gains.

I had a few long runs - several out of the option but a few where I ran up the middle for 3 or 4 plays and then surprised them by going outside when they were looking inside.
