great to hear someone else with the intello. I received my dads from him a few years back, we still hook it up for a game of 4 hour football every thanksgiving. No patches necessary.
If the guy went the wrong direction, you did it!

Yep, my hype just went away and I probably won't be buying either titles this year.

See what happens when you are a monopoly. You have to buy the broken Crap EA sells. Are you meaning to tell me during beta testing no one edited the rosters and the first few hours people have found a bug large enough to make the game suck!

This is like the psp bug a couple of years ago.

                LOL nice one EA

Maybe I'll pick up '08 since it's cheap (never played it) and wait until these issues in '09 are addressed.

Re: NCAA Football 09: To Buy or Not to Buy?

I've been one of the more critical guys on here.

                    Bottom line folks...

If you can handle offense-oriented games, buy it. It's fun. It's a blast to play online and online dynasty will be phenomenal.

I'm a defensive minded guy, always have been, which is why I'm harping on the lack of pass rush/Robo QB, but honestly, this is the most fun I've had since 06.

                    It's a very solid title.

Re: NCAA Football 09: To Buy or Not to Buy?

Well, I have had time to digest everything that I have been reading. I am now officially going to pass on NCAA 09 this year. This will be the first time in the history of EA's NCAA that I have done this. They dumbed down the defense to make the game more fun for the casual gamer. Sliders don't seem to help that issue and I am a defensive player. If Madden ends up the same way, I will officially walk away from all of EA's games if this is what the future holds for us hardcore gamers. Who wants a arcade football game?

Re: NCAA Football 09: To Buy or Not to Buy?

I'm leaning towards the don't buy side. I can't go back to playing without the named rosters so that is a huge bumber for me.

Also, I don't want to have offensive shootouts all the time. That is disapointing too. It maybe the first time in years I take a year off of NCAA. I was willing to look past a few minor things like my teams uniforms not being right and knowing our stadium expansion won't be there till next year, but the roster thing and lack of defense is helping me choose not to buy.

I'm disappointed that I got my hopes up so high again this year. Hopefully EA patches it real soon and maybe my mind will change. Of course I won't make a final decision till tommorrow when I see the game. The biggest question is can I hold off on a game I've enjoyed buying year after year?

I wish EA would give us an answer as to when they might actually get this game patched. It is sad that games are being released all the time now that are buggy and need to be patched. Not just EA, all companies need to stop depending on xbox live and PSN to fix games that shouldn't have been released.

At least it was caught early and hopefully we'll get a patch within a month. Still too long. Tomorrow, I'll decide what I'll do.....I'm leaning towards not, but I know the empulse will get me.

Screw it, I'm still buying it. It's not like I haven't played a bug free game from EA the past few years on the PC.
