Night Owl Dynasty Sliders - Sim Style

Before using any sliders you must understand this simple truth...
This game will never play simulation style football with modified sliders alone period.
It's not possible, it ain't gonna happen. This has been the case since the original xbox.
Just go play Alabama on any skill level and check the end of game stats. They will pass 35 times and run 15.
This is no where near reality and it's like this for every team. IMO EA designed it this way to achieve a realistic
number of points in 20 minutes of football. So in conclusion, no set of sliders have the ability to address this problem. If you are not willing to make the changes necessary to fix this issue then you will never have a realistic simulation of college football.

Myself and a OS member named Jukeman both were working independently on this problem on the original xbox. I came up with a percentage method which was a quick fix, while he put a vast amount of time into creating a permanent accurate fix for the game. I have been using his fix since the original xbox and it still works fantastic.

At the very bottom of this post you will find Jukeman's original Run/Pass percentages for every team in the game.
There are two ways to use his numbers.

1) Before each dynasty game go to the coach strategy section of the team you are about to play and edit the run/pass slider for that team only.
Once the game is over go back and put the slider to its original value.
The benefit to this method is that the simulated dynasty stats are not changed, they remain the same.

2) Edit every teams run/pass percentage once and you are done forever.
The disadvantage to this method is the dynasty stats will be skewed toward the run a bit. The games you play will be the same using either method.

So it's up to you. If you don't mind the dynasty wide stats being skewed a bit then method two is best. If you are a hardcore stats guy then method one will be best for you.
This slider can be confusing but just remember you are moving it to the left for every team in the game. If you can't hit the exact number listed, then just get as close as you can. Sometimes this slider skips a few numbers as you move it.

Next: You probably read people complaining about the CPU not throwing the long ball. Well I have been able to increase the deep throws by the CPU. In the same place you edit the run/pass slider, you will find a conservative / aggressive offense slider.
Simply move this slider all the way to the right for every team in the game. You will see more long balls. Again you can use method 1 or 2 from above to make this change.

NOTE: These run/pass - aggressive/conservative changes can only be made in dynasty mode.
You can not test these in play now. Create a test dynasty to try this out.

Now for the sliders.

Because of the slider bugs its not possible this year for me to create a challenging set of AA sliders.
However, these Heisman sliders are the best I've ever created. These sliders are what we are using in The Night Owl Dynasty along with the above run / pass changes.

Here are the Sliders:

--Heisman Level
--8 Min Quarters
--CPU/Human sliders are the same, so these work great offline, online, or against a local friend.
Since they are balanced sliders they will not need to be changed 'IF' EA ever patches the slider bug.
So if you like them, you are good to go in all situations.

Offense

QB ACC - 40
Pass Blk - 0
WR Catch - 10
RB ABL - 40
Run Blk - 0

Defense

Awr - 50
Knockdown - 100
INT - 0
Brk Blk - 100
TAK - 25

Special Teams

FG PWR - 5
FG ACC - 0
Punt PWR - 0
Punt ACC - 60
Kick off - 70

All Penalties maxed out.

The above sliders in conjunction with the below run/pass sliders create a fantastic simulation of college football.
The game play feels wide open but the red zone is tough. Running is fluid and feels much like AA Level but a bit harder.
Passing is perfect and so are the completion percentages. Pressure is back and feels very similar to the 08 version.
INt's are realistic because the CPU will run the ball more.
50+ yard FG's are a thing of the past, they can be made, but you must be dead on perfect, the cpu max range is about 45 yards depending on kicker power.
Kick off returning is improved but not perfect. CPU/Human average about the 30 yard line on returns.

If you like this style of simulation play please keep our online dynasty in mind. We are currently full but will have
openings in season one as people drop out. So put yourself on our waiting list at:

** A note to commissioners: Once you take your dynasty online you can no longer edit the run/pass percentage for every team.
You can however create a offline dynasty, edit all the run/pass sliders, then 'host the dynasty' online and the changes remain in place.
