Re: Despite Flaws, NCAA 09 a Great Experience

I slammed the game and it's developers when the inexcusable bugs game to light but I decided to rent it anyways and I have to say >>> THIS GAME IS FUN. Take it for what it is. I've given up expecting any football video game to be a correct simulation. My favorite APF 2K8 is not a sim but is fun as heck and it's the same here. I just finished my first dynasty game as Hawaii and got destroyed at the swamp 31-7 as I should have yet had a blast.

Despite it's glaring flaws, this game at it's base is something special. If they fix the numerous bugs this year and improve/overhaul the line play next season this game is on the verge of greatness.

I know I'll be playing this for months to come.

I'm happy ignored the boards (for the most part) and purchased game.

Its better than last years game that's all that matters. I'm sure the upcoming patches will enhance the experience even more.

Yeah, but at this point, EA could sell you a ham sandwich and call it NCAA 2010, and people would jump all over it because you could slice through the sandwhich like never before. This game is broken, plain and simple, and stuff like this isn't going to fly for very much longer.

In fact, I propose that next year, EA just sack their 2010 game and focus on 2011. Since to many of you, 2009 is the greatest thing since chips met queso, I don't think there would be too much of an uproar. Plus, you could get a new feature like actual defense.

Or maybe you just suck. Playing as Arizona State i've had tight low scoring games with both USC and Georgia. Here'es a thought.....spend some time actually trying to learn how to play the game instead of spending all your time here whining about it. Maybe then you'll get better.

Once again, the hateful whiners have hijacked another thread. The names are always the same too. Coincidence? I think not.

I highly doubt that. I want to know, how many sacks per game are you getting? If you say more than .5, you're a lier. I wan to know how many passes your opposing quarterback is getting. If you say anything lower than 65% of them, you're lying.

The worst part is, this game graphicly looks wonderful. Yet, you can't buy a painting just because it has pretty colors. There has to be technique, there has to be substance. EA has a pretty game, but a broken system.

I guess I am lying because I have held the CPU to less than 65% more than once, and easily get more than .5 sacks per game.

                BTW it's liar, not lier.

So you openly admit to lying? Over a video game? Get a life man.

LOL, hardly. I was just disputing your claim. I have held the CPU under 65%, several times. Getting more than .5 sacks a game as you put it all the time as well.

As far as getting a life. Maybe you should heed your own advice.

Hey, I'm not the one blindly following what EA puts out there. I'm not the only one telling you that the defense is broken. This is a major problem, and EA either needs to

                          A) Fix it in a patch (hopefully before the year is over)
                          B) Give full refunds

It's that bad, and you know it. There is no way you should be able to get an average of 70% passes completed. I shouldn't have to sim the defense just to get realistic stats. I should be able to play the game without frills such as ice the kicker or quiz the qb.

But hey, if I wasted $60 on this game, I might want to defend it as much as possible too. Get rid of the buyer's guilt.

Didn't defend it. I said I had fun with the game. Then disputed your ridiculous claim about sacks and completion pct.

You don't like the game, great. Move on. Other people do enjoy the game, I am sorry not everyone has the same opinion you do. That's the beauty of a free country. We're all allowed to have opinions.

I do find it ironic someone who doesn't even have the game, is spending so much time in the NCAA forums, posting, and then telling others to get a life. But I guess it is what it is.

Why should they make games just for you sim players? I don't want total realism, and my money spends the same as yours, so why should you get your game but I shouldn't get mine?

You know, I love football. I love watching it, playing it, being a part of it. Yet, since the end of 2k5, I've wanted to play it on the console. Playing video game football means a lot to me, but since I only have one choice, I let my voice ring. EA is the only ones making football games now, and they have to know that this game is absolutely terrible when it comes to defense.

See, another beauty about this country is that you aren't the only one with an opinion. I have the right to tell you that you're wrong, and that this game does not play like football. I've played it for roughly five days, and that is enough to tell me that EA didn't care about the game, they just cared about the money in the end. Because of people like you, this trend will not stop.

I love football, and that's why I'm here. I feel the need to tell EA that they don't have a good game on the market, and I'm here to tell others to rent before buying.
