Rocket Catching is unstopable! (litereally)

This seems to me be the new trend on NCAA, i see all the top players doing it, can anyone give me some good tips on "How to" ?

To do it I think all you have to do is lob a long, arching pass, take control of your wideout and jump for the catch, but I'm not sure. To stop it I guess you could control one of your DB's and try to go for the swat or the INT, but once again I'm not sure. I don't really play online much, and when I do it's against people I know, and they don't use that style of play.

Throw the deep ball and instead of catching it on the run try and get to it just a second earlier so you can hold the strafe button and turn around then press Y to jump for it. Usually you'll jump straight up and over the CB and he isn't able to make a play on it. The only way to stop it is to get a lucky swat or wait till the WR is about to catch it and try to knock it out while he's still in the air.

Well it is nearly impossible with that approach, I have found moderate at best success at either beating the receiver to the spot and strafe catching as the DB, its tough but can be done. Or just set yourself up for a hit stick when he is coming down, you can knock the ball out as well as injure the receiver if you time it right.

It can be stopped DEPENDING on how the person on offense throws the pass. If they throw a bullet you can intercept it. But if they throw a normal pass and lead pass up and have a tall WR, you can forget it. You are not going to stop it. Your DB will not even go up for it. On another note I had to laugh at this

Well you have to kill someone to get a penalty so try brkeaing someones leg right before they catch the ball. Honestly man I don't have a clue, it why I only play ofline or online dynasty.

This is what happened to me:

It was 3rd and 7. The CPU dropped back and lead the WR with a pass over the middle. The ball is coming right at me (the safety). Before I could make a play on the ball, the crossing receiver literally warped in front of me to make the catch across the middle for the 1st down. There was no way in hell that he should've caught up to the ball. I mean it was blatant. The WR didn't move his legs. It's not like the CPU needs any extra help with their 99.99% completion percentage.

I still give up the rocket catch all the time, but I think the DB's are better in '09. It seems like they can jump higher and actually go for the ball this time around. I think the key is to switch to the DB, get in front of the reciever, and just not it down unless it's a relative freebie interception.
Also, a good pass rush helps everything

lmao, qtrs = best defense in the game even
we test this out every night

im gonna run a jumbo set all night vs the 7db qtrs defense.....ill get owned as qtrs = when in doubt pick qtrs defense....lmao
