Ack! I'm trying to avoid confusion like this! (and you even edited your post!)

So the first patch fixes the editing rosters and downloading rosters from the locker issue.

The online dynasty issues of game results not being reported and people getting locked out of their dynasties is being done server side and won't require the long patch process.

The 2nd patch will address the list of things we want to fix that we have been working on since the game was completed.

No patches were delayed... however, our initial estimate of when the first patch would be released was wrong. I posted the initial estimate here and am expecting to be flamed horribly when it turns out not to be true. Expect the first patch fixing roster editing and downloading in 10 days or so.

Thanks, no wonder I could not find anything about gameplay specifically, sorry to crowd the thread. Sounds like some better sliders is about where my expectations should lie, not any drastic changes. Thanks for clearing it up, anything additional would be a bonus.

It should. What it addresses is up in the air still.

This isn't flipping burgers as the analogy often is!

            Oh.. BTW... Go Bucs!
Hey, if I have an avatar like that guy can I get my custom configs back? Just kidding...

Yes, Go Bucs! And point well taken. HOWEVER... I'm not suggesting that people switch departments.

Everyone has a deadline date, right? And maybe the "shiny helmet people" or the "realistic grass people" (it just sounds nicer than the graphics department) have more people in their department working there than the lowly "custom config" department. I understand this. But then obviously the "custom config" department's deadline date has to be moved back, or the guy in charge of the "custom config" department has to be honest and tell someone when they ask him...

Supervisor: "Do we have custom configs in this year's game?"
Custom Config Guy: "Well, it works for certain controls and not for others."

But then the supervisor can't just say "Ok." He has to ask a followup question as any good supervisor would do.

Super: "What do you mean exactly it works for some controls but not for others?"
CCG:"There's still a problem with getting LT to release the default pitch control and anything set to LT will both pitch the ball and do the new custom command."
Super: ""Sounds broke to me. So you're saying we DON'T have custom configs in this year's game?"
            CCG: "I guess not."
Super: "How about you take LT out as an option then so they won't encounter that problem."
CCG: "What? That's the most pleasure I get! Annoying the public when something doesn't work like it should! And imagine the look on that guy's face when he gets into a game online, sees the end zone, hits LT to speed burst into the endzone, and then the guy pitches the ball backwards out of bounds when he has his finger nowhere near his custom config "pitch the ball" button. Lol. Oh, what fun!"

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the conversation went something like that.

But how else do you explain it?

I will exit the thread now. Omt thanks again for the interaction, I do appreciate any answer and understand you don't have and all the answers after clarification. I was not trying to flame the game as a whole, it has shortcomings as all games do, but all in all I really enjoy it. Its a solid effort in my opinion, and I was only trying to gain insight on ways it could become even better. Thanks for the hard work and forum participation.

No, I don't think it will help the pass rush.

Why? Because as the sliders go right now, they both effect HUM and CPU on the HUM settings correct?

Well...with HUM Break Block at 100 and HUM Pass Block at 0, both the CPU and HUM Offensive lines are like the Berlin Wall.

There is a fundamental "cheat" in pass blocking.

One thing that WOULD help...Get rid of the freaking chop blocks/pancakes EVERY. SINGLE. PLAY. I'm really getting tired of seeing all of my defenders get flipped on their heads each play. And yes...it happens literally every single play.

Also, the Defenders running in quicksand is not going to be helped with sliders. There is a definite speed cheat right now towards the offense.

If you need proof of this, I'll gladly post some videos.

                    Also,

I didn't see this mentioned but fix the "substitution" bug as well.

The bug occurs in that for example...

You have 10 WRs on your team.

You can only set the first 6 on the depth chart.

If any of those 6 get hurt, tired, etc. the computer SHOULD put in the final 4 WRs before anyone else.

It doesn't....it starts putting in defensive backs and safeties instead.

It does the same on defense.

You have 10 DBs on your team.

You can only set the first 6 on the depth chart.

If any of those 6 get hurt, tired, etc. the computer SHOULD put in the final 4 before anyone else.

It doesn't...it starts putting in Wide Receivers.

                    Fix this please sir.

I honestly don't have any trouble getting to the quarterback. If anything, it seems too easy. Now, the CPU doesn't seem to get to me, which gives me too much time in the pocket, allowing me to complete every pass. The CPU just doesn't have anything going on from either side of the ball, until I'm able to boost their sliders.

Anyhow, getting to the CPU quarterback hasn't been an issue for me. I just need THEM to get to ME more often.

Now that more issues are coming out we are identifying the ones we want to fix the most. I was going to do an official patch announcement of some kind when I knew, and still will, but I'll give a sneak peak based on what I know cause I love your avatar so much.

                          We fixed 2 recruiting exploits
                          Fixed a rare online desynch
                          Added half time highlights
Changed custom sounds so you can hear your opponent's while on the road
Fixed the exploit that custom sounds will tip you off when your opponent is going to fake punt/kick on 4th down
That's all I can remember off the top of my head. There are some others but I don't have the patch list in front of me as I'm posting at home right now.

It is still up in the air as to the stuff that we didn't have identified until the game went public. They are all on the gameplay team so I am not involved in their decision whether or not to fix them. The NCAA team's top two issues we want fixed is kick coverage and sliders.

It is best to wait on an official announcement, because any of this could change at any minute. I'll let everyone know once everything is locked down and finished, cause I don't want to mislead anyone. ONCE AGAIN, these aren't promises!
                          That's awesome news!

I get to the QB a couple times a game and that is what I would expect.
Oh you could not be more wrong my good man.

There is something SERIOUSLY...I mean....SERIOUSLY wrong if you think that a big time Defensive tackle, a "Glenn Dorsey" type of player, should "get to the QB a couple of times a game".

Dude, if I'm a 95 rated tackle like Sen'Derrick Marks for Auburn and I'm facing centers and guards that are 74 or 75 I should OWN them...I'm talking, I should be blowing up the interior of that line, getting through and making that QB's life a living hell.

I'm not talking about getting 7 sacks a game. But an elite D line should LIVE in the backfield against mediocre competition and should be going "50/50" against similar talent.

95 rated DEs and 95 rated DTs should be FORCES...not programmed to get stonewalled 98% of the time.

That frightens me that you think that way. I need to send you some video of great Defensive lines and let you see what a true dominant line can do in a football game.

"Get to the QB a couple of times and that's good enough for me"....tsk tsk...Adam..Adam..Adam. We need to work on your defensive mentality bud.

Sorry wasn't try to confuzzle things. I didn't mean delayed as much as in the estimated time range. No flaming here just happy to hear someone from EA is on it. Alos happy to hear that the Dynasty thing is a server side fix Hopefully that will come soon. Its my main complaint, I can live with some of the other stuff but I have always wondered why games didn't do online leagues like this in the first place and still don;t understand why it took so long. So the online dynasty is everything for me when it comes ot this game.

I see a lack of pass rush when it comes to the CPU side, no question. The CPU can't seem to touch me. But I break through quite often against the CPU. More than what I'd like, since they can't do anything as it is. I haven't really tried any human vs. human games yet, so I'm sure it can be annoying. I'm just trying to get some decent gameplay from the CPU, and it won't be happening if the sliders don't get fixed. I'd gladly trade lack of pass rush and deep ball, for the option to boost the CPU so high, they'd rip me to shreds.
