Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
If the toupee does not fit you must acquit! YES! Hopefully I get this bad boy before I have to goto sleep (I work graveyard) And was for the reviews I don't trust IGN that much to begin with and unless it specifically mentions that they haven't fixed what us hardcore guys wanted fixed I won't jump to conclusions. Chances are they didn't even play it enough to notice. In Transit - On Time

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I saw a reference somewhere that (in addition to adding a bullpen and ability to warm up pitchers), there's also a "Hot Shots Golf style" 3-click meter for aiming pitches. Any confirm that? I feel like pitchers are too accurate on both ends, but at least with the meter, there'd be more challenge for me as a pitcher.Comment

If the damned UPS man would hurry up I'd confirm or deny...Hopefully one of us gets it soon.I saw a reference somewhere that (in addition to adding a bullpen and ability to warm up pitchers), there's also a "Hot Shots Golf style" 3-click meter for aiming pitches. Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I just picked mine up at Gamestop during my lunch hour (they only got 1 in!). I went home to give it to my kids and I checked Arrange mode and it seems to be unlocked. I created a team and made trades. I also went into the "Shop" and saw that there was no way to buy Arrange Mode. So this is good news. I also noticed that during a game you can see hot and cold zones. I'll check out other features when I get home from work later. This is the Wii version.Last edited by jeb68; 07-29-2008, 12:53 PM.Comment

If anyone gets the Wii version, can you check and see if game saves can be transferred to SD cards?
If so, combined with the Arrange Mode being unlocked right away maybe we can see some serious work on roster files. PS2 folks can get started on that right away of course.Last edited by XiaNaphryz; 07-29-2008, 12:28 PM.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I picked up the PS2 version at lunch, and I can confirm that there are 2 pitching modes (from reading the instruction manual). The first is the original, press X to throw, tap X repeatedly to throw harder. The second mode is Holding down X to build power, and then releasing and pressing X when the window (or cursor, or whatever it is) gets small. This new mode loooks like it will make control a bit more difficult. I hope this also affects the CPU and we can get a few walks out of it.I saw a reference somewhere that (in addition to adding a bullpen and ability to warm up pitchers), there's also a "Hot Shots Golf style" 3-click meter for aiming pitches. BTW, the manual is huge again. 30-40 pages worth of info.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I hope this is true, but in last years game you didn't have to unlock it to be able to make the moves and create teams, you had to unlock it to use the teams in season mode. Also, I don't even think you could see arrange mode in shop, it did have the Back Ordered! thing on it and was tinted black so we couldn't see what it was. Check and see if you can use the arange mode teams in season mode.I just picked mine up at Gamestop during my lunch hour (they only got 1 in!). Good to hear about ARRANGE MODE!! Woohooo!
However, if anyone has a chance to check it out a little more detail and see if there is any limitations on putting those arrange teams in season, or all arrange teams in season.
But VERY ENOURAGING!!! This game might have AWESOME potential now.Comment
