thats not necessarily the case.

Acclerated clock has been implemented into Madden this year and is working. Only problem, because MS only allows patches to be 4mb or smaller, they can't put acclerated clock into the game via a patch, so they are looking at alternative ways, like adding in to the game like they do a roster update.

And you don't have to buy Head Coach separately, you can buy the Collector's Edition of Madden and get both.

The worst thing about the lack of custom plays in Madden 09 only is that based on the demo the stock plays seem virtually identical to the plays I find in NCAA 09. They have the same names and everything. It's a real pathetic attempt to force people to buy HC as well. That's not only greedy on EA's part, but lazy as well. Of course, I stand corrected if the full version has legitamate NFL plays and doesn't just copy Ohio State's playbook.

someone please tell me that you don't have to do that My Skill crap if you don't want to. Tell me that I can get the game, select All Pro and play.

Yes, yes you can... it's an option when you first load up the disk, and you can skip it if you don't want the game tuned to your skill.

I don't know about the demo, it's too short to even have impressions really. The graphics look nice, that's the obvious impression I suppose... oh yeah, the celebrations are good too. One thing is clear though, this is definitely the most changed Madden in recent years. I wasn't too hyped about 09 and I'm still not, so I won't be buying the game on day one but I'll pick it up later. Too many other games to play these days!

One thing really bothers me in the demo, you can access all the replay features on every play, except on the final one, when you either fail or succeed in the Madden moment. That's just dumb design. The scenario is that you're driving for the SuperBowl winning TD and when you finally do it, bam-game over, no replays.

same... the Madden IQ test is terrible at evaluating a player's skill. Since when is a good running game measured by how well you do in the open field? Never, is the correct answer, but apparently Madden 09 doesn't know this.

This test tunes how good you are at breaking tackles, and it does translate into the game shutting you down (even when playing multi-player). if you want to see this in action, do really bad at this challenge, and then have some fun running people over with trucks, stiff arms, and spinning out of tackles in the madden moment (you must manually break tackles though, roll of dice days are over). I haven't played the demo (just the final build), but using your lead blockers well on the lead blocking challenge translates into how well they block for you in the game and breaking tackles translates into how well you can break tackles in the game. So those are for tuning your team's lead blocking ability and your timing precision to manually break tackles.


A couple of us like to play each other on low skill levels so we are forced to deliver hitstick or gang tackles in gameplay it makes the user really have to step up and make the hits, which is quite fun.

if EA would take the time next year to put some resources into a

Virtual Espn Countdown in the beginning of the week and Espn Primetime at the end. this game game could be so godly. im not saying it has to be perfect but little excitment for what were doing in our franchise would go a long way .

aside from the presentation . the game overall plays great and being that its not the final build. im even more excited to see what the final build plays like.

I threw a 40 yard bomb to Plax (got an Aggressive Catch notification).

I go up 16 - 14.

Kick a PAT.

(I am freaking out at this point).

Then kick the ball off and Wes Welker runs it back to the 30.

Then the demo says that I failed the Madden Moment?

Weird.

Just wondering if anyone else got this glitch?

yes the demo is glitch infested. wanna see another one get a intentional false start and watch your lineman walk away then call audible he will come back and u can still hike the ball.

Thank God... I understand what you're saying in your reply to me, but I am really looking forward to have the game challenging to me and at the same time fair to my skill set on all cylinders. This is why I'll leave it up to a few exhibition matches to determine my skill set before I hit up my favorite part of Madden... the Franchise mode. I'm also excited that my IQ will rise or fluctuate based on my performance from there on out.

Playing on "myskill" is an option too, so you can still just switch to all-pro if you want.

I played the demo once. Won on a fourth down, last second45 yard bomb to Burress. Game ended.

Anyway, my only impression was, "I spent all that time downloading for this?"
