Re: Madden 09 Roster & Patch Update
Will there be a patch to replace Tom Hammond with someone else? I seriously don't know if I can listen to this guy for an entire season.Comment

Re: Madden 09 Roster & Patch Update
Entering this thread, I thought "Oh No...". I thought that you guys on the forum had found some problems and they were addressing them after release. But thats not the case. Nothing major seems to be wrong as in NCAA, and you guys are just fixing minor things. Thanks!MLB - Detroit Tigers
NFL - Detroit Lions
NHL - Detroit Red Wings
NBA - Detroit Pistons
NCAAF - Michigan Wolverines
NCAAB - Kentucky Wildcats

Re: Madden 09 Roster & Patch Update
The problem isn't "affording it", the problem is that it shouldn't be relied on as much as it is. A few have said that this happens all the time in gaming, well sorry, but I don't remember buying football games that wouldn't let me play/train my players unless I had a patch for it. Whoever thinks that games have always had problems like this hasn't been playing video games that long.Sorry bud, have to ask....if you can't afford $49.99 a year (which equates to $4.16 a month) then why are you buying a $60 game?

That aside...every game ever released has issues and things that can be patched...why do people act as if this is a new phenomenon every year? Game programming is not an exact science.
Also, technology and time marches on...at some point, industry has to stop supporting legacy and older techs. Internet access is there for a huge chunk of the gaming community...they go hand in hand, in fact. So, why shouldn't the gaming companies utilize what they have with extras like DLC and patches?
The problem is that they're relying on these patches too much. And the games aren't even THAT GREAT to begin with, when you consider where they probably should be by now in next gen.
In one hand, it's nice having the little things getting fixed. Like your rookies turning 26 when you edit them, that's the little kind of thing that used to happen in the past that we can get fixed now if we so choose. But we shouldn't have to rely on patches to play a game that we pay for. We shouldn't have to pay extra beyond the game to be able to play that game. We shouldn't even have to take the extra time to do extra work to get the patches to be able to play the game. We should be able to PLAY THE GAME.
And anybody who thinks that we're "SOL" as swanlee would put it, is wrong. I shouldn't HAVE to hook up my console to the net. I shouldn't HAVE to pay for anything extra to play the game. It should JUST WORK. As it's supposed to. I don't see how that's so hard for people to understand.next-gen? "next-gen"? "NEXT"-gen? NEXT-GEN!!!??? Seriously???Comment

You are living in a fantasy dream world that has NEVER existed. Lets go back in time to time to 1996 a nice little RPG game called Daggerfall came out with so many major bugs it could barely be completed. One wrong move in that game meant 40 hrs later you would be stuck. Do you know how much of a pain in the butt it was to get a disc from bethesda to have that game patched?
Be thankfull we have broadband and hardrvies on our consoles and devs have the ability to patch games after they hit the shevles.
This is a good thing.Comment

Re: Madden 09 Roster & Patch Update
Great news for both patches and hopefully the DLC. I guess I can keep my Madden disc from the CE and hang on to it until the patches are released and just enjoy Head Coach until then.Comment

Re: Madden 09 Roster & Patch Update
I just read this. Man, the DLC is just what the Doctor ordered. I have missed the accelerated clock and man was I upset there were no CPU sliders this year, until now.
I take back all the nasty things I said and thought about you guys
Seriously, thank you.Comment

I wish I could say it was a good thing. But from what I've seen, the quality of the product has diminished ever since this became an option. You are living in a fantasy dream world that has NEVER existed. Re: Madden 09 Roster & Patch Update
Well I am thinking about trading in NCAA (I actually liked the game but the lack of playbook editing is the death blow to me) for the CE edition with head coach.
I figure play Head Coach, create playbooks until all the patches come out for Madden.
Anyway is there a % chance on the accelerated clock feature? Because that is kind of the make or break feature for me actually playing Madden. Hell I would pay extra to have that in the game.Comment

Re: Madden 09 Roster & Patch Update
Guys, I didn't see any info pertaining to this, so I thought I'd ask. Is the patch solely for the 360 and PS3 platforms or will there also be a patch for the Wii? I haven't decided which one to get (Wii or 360) as the kiddos are asking for the Wii, but I usually buy sports games for the 360.
Thanks!!Comment
