Differences Between the PS2 and the PS3 Version

Just curious now that the game has been out for 6 months. Has anyone been able to play the game from both consoles? If so, aside from the graphics and music is there a massive difference in gameplay; that's all I'm concerned with.

Are their massive glitches in the PS2? In other words if I have to spend 3 months "fixing" the game right out of the box it will be disappointing.

    Thanks

Well, errors are severely lacking in the ps2 version and user hitting is too easy but other than that, the ps2 version is solid.

Alot of people complain about how hard it is to get extra base hits on the ps3, but you shouldnt have a problem with that at all in the ps2 version.

The ps2 version is lacking some of the sliders that the ps3 version has.

The game play is pretty much the same. The sliders and cap options are a little different. If you don't really care about presentation I would stick with ps2.

Which sliders are you using for the ps2? Is it one of the sets for the ps3?

I have both versions, and was playing both of them for about a month. However, after playing MLB 08 on PS3, in 1080, I started to lose interest in the PS2. This is the most beautiful sports game I ever saw.

PS3 lets you look at all the boxscores for every game. I love this feature. Can't do it on the PS2 version.

After playing the PS3 show since March, I wonder how they could make this game better. I'm sure they will find a way.

Concerning the doubles problem, I haven't really noticed it that much. If you have a batter with good speed, you can stretch singles into doubles. You just have to know the arm strength of your opponent. I play with the Yankees, so I can get doubles with Jeter, Damon, A-Rod, not so much with Giambi, Matsui, and Posada. Pretty much station to station baseball. My pitching is great, lead the Major's in ERA, but my offenses struggles. I am too much of a free swinger, and don't draw a lot of walks.

It's frustrating, some at-bats when A-Rod is up, the CPU will not throw one pitch in the strikezone, but stupid me will swing anyway.

I love this game. It's more realistic than I thought. Thinking about starting another franchise. What team would you guys recommend? I need a team that can hit more for average than power. Should help me cut down on my K's.

One thing I noticed is that if I shake off my catcher, and throw another pitch, the computer always crushes it. Has anyone noticed that to?

I use sky all star for ps3, I was using custom sliders for ps2 because I didn't have online but I traded it in for the ps3 version.
