    Re: 2008 Chicago Bears Den

Fly patterns with Hester is going to get old fast. If he can develop into a wide out who can read a defense then he can become a number 1 WR. I honestly think our starters by the end of the year will be Bennett and Hester with Bradley being the 3rd opinion. Bradley was huge before he got hurt then couldn't stay healthy much like Mike Brown I think he'll have a huge come back year from injuries. Marty Booker was joke of a pick up... he was rejected by the Bears a few years ago and now by the Dolphins, I think it'd be smarter for the Bears to just cut him take whatever he was making and put it towards next year's QB in the draft. I think if Grossman wins the QB job Hester will see a lot of throws, but if Orton wins it, it's going to go to more guys like Olson and Bennett.
Let them hate so long as they fear.

Bears defense not looking to good. I am blaming the coordinators calls.
Orton looks ok, Grossman looks good against the 2nd stringers.
Forte looks ok, Peterson looked better but then again thats against the scrubs.

Overall not too impressed. I think the Bears need some coaching changes, not necessarily Lovie Smith mostly the coaches around him. I would take Ron Rivera back or maybe give Mike Singletary a shot.

Damned skippy, Ron was great Mike would be good too. It's only the 1st pre season game so I'm not too impressed or depressed. I like how Jamar Williams is starting to play.

Chris Williams having a herniated disc in the back and having surgery has me a bit worried.

BTW, Mike Brown's fro sticking out of the top of the visor on the sidelines looked awesome.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Ron Rivera is one of the worst co-ordinators in the league. Im not even a Bears fan, but this guy is one of the most predictable coaches in the NFL. I was amazed he survived last year. He is a terrible coach, and to steal a page from MGoBlog, he always throws rock and its boring as hell, predictable as all sin.

              Re: 2008 Chicago Bears Den

I only saw the first half. What I did see.

              1. Kyle Orton is Kyle Orton. Dump the ball off, make the safe throw, won't win it, won't lose it.

              2. Rex looked ok, had a real nice throw to Lloyd, but I heard he looked worse in the second half. He'll get his shot last week.

              3. Brandon McGowan may be ready to take the next step. ALways with a nose for the ball, he now seems to know where the play is going. Just looks ilke a potential breakthrough player to me.

              4. Matt Forte will upgrade our running game. Matt Forte will probably never make a pro bowl. Well he might, but he won't be that top 5 guy. However, he reminds me a lot of Neal Anderson (for those old enough to remember)and that's a good thing. He looks very polished, great hands, runs hard, is decisive, I am very happy with what I saw.

              5. Here's my crazy prediction. Daniel Manning will not make it to opening day. This guy looks like he's learned nothing. He really looks like he just doesn't get it. I know he has the measurables but he's not a professinal football player. Dude's got no instincts, he's seems lost or just doesn't care much out there. He's a 2nd rounder so he might last one more year, but I think he may be shown the door very soon.

              6. I don't wanna jinx it, but how nice would it be to have a healthy Mike Brown for a full season? When on the field, this guy is the heart and soul of the defense. They just play differently when he's out there.

              7. D-line if healthy should be very very good, if not a little under rated.

              8. I already think, even without Chris Williams that the Oline looks better than last year. I was very encouraged.....from 1 preseason game mind you.

              9. NFL network actually reported Chirs Williams had a back injury going into the draft. How the hell didn't Angelo know this? This has gone on too long for it to be nothing. I got a feeling we won't be seeing him anytime soon. Too bad too.

Angelo's a joke. Has he ever drafted one good offensive player?

I got a real bad feeling about this. Time to move John Tait....again?

Watched most of the game and let me say this, let the 3rd and 8 at the KC 20 play set the tone for the rest of the season. You got a QB that just had a two score drives and is on fire and what do you do at the end of the 4th? Conservative; he runs it. Damn you Turner. God forbid Turner taking a gamble in a preseason game even! Wait gamble? I mean non-idiotic play calling.

And you're right Jistic, Grossman was bad in the 2nd half. If it wasn't for that 25 yard dump off TD to Wolfe, he would have had nothing at all in the 2nd half.

I honestly though Hanie had the best night of all three quarterbacks.

Yeah he did look good but it was against mostly 3rd stringers. I think he should get some more time earlier in the next game. This kid could be the future a few years down the line if he can progress.

Who ever the dumb *** was that said he wasn't impressed with the defense... again I say you're a dumb ***! It's the first preseason game. You could tell these guys wern't even going 60%. What do you always seen when you see the Bears making a tackle? At least 4 guys there.... that didn't happen because they were not playing at top level. Come on, Alex Brown would have never let LJ score had that been a real game. Also, I agree, Hanie looked awesome! However it was 3rd stringers but that gives him a reason to try for the first string. Grossman looked like one of the QB's we used to have.... Oh wait, now he's calling the play by play in Eric Kramer. Give the kid a shot!

I say put him in a few snaps while the opponent's 1st stringers are out there and if he does well let him keep going for a little bit. If he keeps doing well let him compete for the starting job.

Im really looking forward to the game tomorrow. Personally last game i didnt think our defense looked that bad except for the first drive where they just could get off the field on third down.

                              A few things:

                              1) This is what we're going to get when you put Rex at QB. Teams will stack the box and blitz the **** out of him. Which will cause him to do squat.

                              2) Our offensive line might be worse than last year.

                              3) You cannot put Devin Hester at wide receiver. He is just not a wideout. He is a home run hitting kick returner. PERIOD. I don't care how much money they paid him. Lovie is going to get him killed.

                              4) Speaking of Lovie.....he is a ****ing idiot.

                              5) Orton looks a lot better than Rex.

                              6) Ron Turner needs to get his head out of his ***. I swear, if he calls one more play up the gut like we have the '92 Cowboys offensive line, I might choke somebody.

                              7) I feel bad for the defense this year. AGAIN.
