Just gave this shot and I can't tell if it's working or not. A workaround would be to leave the second controller on your opponent's side and use the Ask Corso feature and hike the ball for them.

It's a bit of a stretch but, I'd rather do that than change the sliders on every change of possession. That may work in the interim.
