Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #2 Available, Impressions Here
I've only play one game with the patch, but it still feels like it is hard to stop. The DBs still can make stupid mistakes that they shouldn't and I noticed the slant still works well.Comment

I'm 99.9% satisfied. Ea, you done good with this patch. It's too bad this wasn't the game released a month ago.
A game I should not win and did not. Very defense oriented game from start to finish.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #2 Available, Impressions Here
OMT said they didn't address the OL/DL interaction or pass rush. If you are at default I would guess that stuff would play exactly the same. With the fixed cpu sliders I think people are seeing some improvements as they have adjusted things.I just didn't see any difference at all on All-american default sliders with the pass rush or OL/DL interaction. I need to play more and try slider tweaks, but I just think alot of this may be wishful thinking. I don't remember OMT or EA stating that they were going to address the OL/DL interaction. Unless they tweaked the way the sliders worked. I hope you guys that say so are correct, I really do.
What did you guys do, OMT, so we can stop speculating? Did you increase slider effectiveness or tweak the OL/DL? Thanks for getting this patch out so quick.
I would like to know if they increased the slider effectiveness as well as I feel they are watered down this year (but I doubt it). I'm assuming they just made sure the cpu ones worked.
Still waiting for the PS3 patch.Comment

I have very little doubt the interception slider has been made more effective. Couldn't tell you about the others so far.OMT said they didn't address the OL/DL interaction or pass rush. agreed. I think the CPU pass block was stuck at 50 prepatch and now lowering it to 0 has an effect from what i am reading.OMT said they didn't address the OL/DL interaction or pass rush. Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #2 Available, Impressions Here
How many games have you played so far? I don't have the patch yet but even pre-patch I had a lot of games with 0,1 or 2 CPU thrown Ints using the Canes, who have a good defense. I also had 3,4 and 5 pick games but they were already much less frequent(and consequently much more tolerable) than they had been in 08. My point in saying all this is that you may just have stumbled upon a couple of good INT games in a row which gives you the impression that it's changed.Comment

2, but I play at 11 minute quarters so I saw a lot of plays. There were just too many pick opportunities that were dropped which absolutely were never dropped before for me to believe the slider effect wasn't bumped up. I very well could be wrong, but that's my gut feeling. How many games have you played so far? I have looked through this thread and couldn't find out if you could hear your opponents stadium sounds. If any of you guys that play online matches could tell me I would appreciate it.Click HERE to join Cluck Femson on facebook. For Gamecock fans and anyone who dislikes the clemscum tigers...Comment

I'm hoping they toned down the interceptions. I could get 3-5 pics a game with Cincinnati with interceptions set to 0.How many games have you played so far? Re: NCAA Football 09 Patch #2 Available, Impressions Here
The official number last year was 28.4 for the season, figured I'd throw that out there for you. I don't have a link but I'm 99% sure I'm correct (I read it in Phil Steele's magazine).I have posted this quite a few times before and will post it again. While I don't have the stats from last year (its not an official NCAA stat), there were plenty of kickoffs from the 30 yard line two years ago (due to penalties) and the average starting position in NCAA for those kicks was at the 32 yard line!! (I had posted a link before but can't find that one now). After one week last year, the starting position was at the 30 in NCAA http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/footbal...yhoo&type=lgns.
Why do so many people think that teams should be starting from the 20 to 25 yard line in college. If the average starting point is the 30 its actually perfect! This is not the NFL. College kickers stink compared to them. If the kicks are too short for you then you can use sliders but I'm very confident that slider adjustments can lead to a realistic kickoff return game. Its the punt returns that bother me. I personally am always hit before the 30 yard line on kickoffs and have to elude guys if I want to get past it.Comment
