The patch will not be available until mid Sept. at the earliest. Tiborun just submitted it this week.

Re: Two Weeks of Madden 09, and Official Patch News!
I really wish EA could just put this stuff up on their own servers so we don't have to wait weeks for Microsoft and Sony to go through their extensive processes.Comment

Also, Ian mentioned having to get MS/Sony to approve the DLC. Couldn't they just put this out in the same manner as they do a roster update? Just curious.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Two Weeks of Madden 09, and Official Patch News!
thats what I meant. Couldn't EA put the DLC for Madden out thru their servers like a roster update instead of going through MS/Sony?
Sorry, I didn't make that clear in my original post.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Two Weeks of Madden 09, and Official Patch News!
One of the developers on here said that the ability to do so wasn't actually in the game and joked they would have to "patch it in." I think that having EA server support for patches and DLC is an underrated item for the 2010 wishlist.Comment

Re: Two Weeks of Madden 09, and Official Patch News!
Stability issues in the play call / halftime highlights / postgame highlights screens (especially in Franchise mode after training games): This was a hard one to track down as not everyone was seeing it , we did find the issue however with some Instant Replay / cache corruption, and have a fix ready for patch 2.
Workaround until the patch: Save and re-boot after any point where you have entered the game. We learned that the likelihood of this issue appearing is magnified after multiple loads into and out of the game engine. From what we’ve seen so far, people that have tried playing only one game at a time (or even one Franchise training session at a time), and saving/rebooting afterwards, have had zero crashes.
I have been playing around with this more. Specifically getting into franchise season 3 by simming every event, then trying specific actions to see what "breaks it." (In my mind, re-booting every 17 seconds was not an option)
When testing player editing, I was able to successfully change the players name, number, accessories... all without problems. But, when I tried to change their position, player training froze during intro loading.
Tested it twice, froze both times. Maybe it's just coincidence, but it doesn't seem to be.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: Actually, this is not quite right. You cannot edit a players position, and then change it back to its original.Comment

Incredibly, incredibly late on this one, but if all of that stuff is indeed 'fixed' in the second patch... wow. If it all works as intended, kudos to the Madden team for addressing community concerns...
However, unless I overlooked something, I see no mention of CPU QB accuracy. I'm guessing much of the 40+ pages could have been on this very subject, but I haven't been to the Madden forum much lately. Read the Ian's first post & replied like a schmo... Sorry!Comment

There is hope that the addition of CPU sliders will lower CPU QB Accuracy.Comment

Yeah, I just went and re-read Ian's initial post. I somehow managed to miss the paragraph about the DLC. Hopefully they can get that stuff approved & out the virtual-door!Comment

Re: Two Weeks of Madden 09, and Official Patch News!
I completely agree with you. These forums have become a place for nonstop bitching. The notion of blaming EA for buying the rights to the NFL is stupid. North America is a FREE MARKET society. Get a clue. Between the mods shutting down almost every thread to the "I've got my panties in a bunch" complainers, I've definitely started to see a slide in this community.
Just be happy that madden is being patched a quickly as it is.
You won't see respect and appreciation from the majority when they are stuck with a game that doesn't work half the time and lacks so much. Plus, nothing is worse hearing from a few saying their copies have never froze. Thats like telling EA that theres nothing wrong and just concentrate on making a flawed Madden 2010. I'm beyond frustrated only being able to play 1 franchise game at a time because if I try to play 2 it will freeze even if I quit the franchise mode and reload.
2k was having troubles with freezing in the past couple mlb games and you know what they did? They dropped Kush games because they proved they didn't know what the hell they were doing because if you can release a game that freezes year after year that just shows ignorance in programming and laziness in testing. EA gets away with it all the time and were stuck watching developers for this game talk it up like its the next big thing in sports gaming every year. WHAT?
Patching is the worst thing that could have happened this gen because it allows a company like EA to half *** their games and just reel in 60+ dollars from millions of gamers that need an updated NFL game. When EA can release a Madden game with zero freezing, realistic game play, and great presentation out of the box I'll take back everything bad I have said about them the past few years and I'll start buying all EA sports titles but I have a feeling a pole shift will occur before that happens.Comment
