Wow, just had an awesome game against the CPU. I was Michigan and played against Penn State. I won by a TD, but the CPU def put up a fight.

I didnt see any issues of note. Before, I could barely get through a whole game.

Much more realistic and better now.

good to hear man. The difference is night and day thus far. Its so great to be able to play defense again.


Thru the first quarter of play Idaho's QB is 1/8 for 11yds with one pick. That pick was on a ball batted at the line and intercepted by my LB. Hell yeah!!

I hear ya. I just played part of a game and it's awesome. Sliders WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is awesome. I'm eating dinner now and then I'll be watching the game but I'll be playing a game saturday and a few sunday and monday. This is awesome!

* Improved online performance

Dynasty
* Fixed a couple recruiting exploits
* Faster simming between weeks

Custom Stadium Sounds
* The “All” option will now only work when the user is the home team

Gameplay
* Improved coverage on kicks
* Hook Zones depth keeps defenders in their zones
* Fixed an issue with the Strafe Catch
* Allow fumbles to occur when diving
* WR screen routes improved

Bug Fixes
* Sliders will now work correctly
* An issue with missing stats after simming has been fixed
* Ball carrier will no longer run out of bounds when changing hands and heading towards the sidelines
* Fixed an exploit that allowed the slot receiver to burn the safeties in a prevent defense
* Fixed a bug where the the ball would hit the cross bar, drop through, and not be counted
* Fixed a bug that would prevent Hot Routes from working

Ok, I've played a half of football(12 minute quarters) and here are some stats:

Louisville 14
Idaho 3

Cantwell: 11/17 203yds 2 TD
IdahoQB: 8/19 100yds 0 TD 1 INT (he was 1/8 thru the 1st quarter, 7/11 in the 2nd)

Powell: 9 carries for 56yds
Bolen: 3 carries for 34yds
IdahoHB: 10 carries for 78yds (he had a beautiful run late in the half)

Thoughts:

* Pass defense is 10x's better now. Imo, both man and zone have been improved. CB's will jump curl routes if the ball is thrown late.

* I saw the cpu throw the ball at receiver's feet 3 times in the first half. He also sailed on out of bounds on a corner route in the endzone.

* the cpu threw deep 3 times. they also chucked one up at the end of the half. They were at my 43 yd line.

* kick coverage 1000 times better. Gunners turn in at a more realistic point.

* Pass rush is the same although adjusting sliders makes a world of difference. I hate adjusting sliders, but may with this one. I'll do some testing to see where I feel its balanced.

* QB still does the goofy option from time to time. Something we'll have to live with.

* a couple of times the cpu threw balls into the flat or on out patterns and instead of the receiver running out of bounds, they headed up field. Glad to see that.

* Punt coverage has not changed, though I thought it was ok pre-patch

* Penalties are the same. Sliders seem to have no effect, although it wasn't said they would

* There were two instances where pre patch the cpu would've fake punted, but instead he kicked the ball away. Glad to see that.

Thats all for now. I was happy with this game pre-patch but I am excited about this game now. Its gonna be a great weekend.

Madden just doesnt grab me like this game. This game doesnt have the greatest presentation and atmosphere (though it is fairly good!), yet its leaps and bounds ahead of Madden in that dept! I can actually tell the difference in crowd noise when playing at different stadiums and that just pumps me up. Patch#2 also addressed the ROBO Qb and horrible defense AI in this game and IMO, the gameplay is near perfect now. I think imma fire up a game right now! Peace

I don't wanna turn this into a Madden vs NCAA debate, so I'll stop after this, but NCAA is 10 times better in the presentation dept vs Madden. But it should be honestly. They have had this presentation for 3 years now on NCAA and Madden is a late bloomer in that dept.

And I'll agree, this is the solid foundation for gameplay that the series has needed. I feel as though they have a good thing to build upon.

1) I have no idea what recruiting exploit was fixed.

2) you do not have to start a new dynasty for the patch to take effect.

Thanks man! Appreciate it! Also, do you know if these will all now work with my current dynasty or do I have to start a whole new one? I would imagine it would work with my current one because it affects the system of the game and not like rosters or something. Am I right?

1. one was an exploit you could do where you could spend all day with 1 recruit by hard selling pitches over and over again. now they will hang up more often if you keep trying to hard sell the same thing.

the other one was something with quick call where you could end up with 2 pitches at "most". that according to Adam if i remember correctly.

2. no, you don't have to start over. you'll probably have to adjust sliders more though. (even the updated recruiting that the patch did will work)
