Re: NCAA 09 Patch #2 Available for 360 Only, Impressions Here

    For PS3:

I'm playing on AA by the way...

The pass rush in this patch is definitely improved(whether EA admits it was worked on or not, something is different). I've gotten through the line much more now, the D-linemen seem to have a little more speed and ability to fight through blocks. I saw games pre-patch where my WHOLE line would get pancaked and the QB would just sit back there with all day to throw. After several games post patch, I myself have gotten at least 4-5 user sacks just from a straight bull rush, and my teammates have gotten several. My blitzes seem to work more effectively as well.

Also, I had the CPU(Alabama) throw TWO deep TD's against me. One was 34 yds, and the other was 30yds. I'm talking about the ball traveled the the whole way in the air, and the receiver only had to take a step or two to get into the end zone. That absolutely NEVER happened, not once, pre-patch.

Robo QB is still there in most games, but it doesnt feel as cheap b/c my players are usually right around the play now, as opposed to being WAY out of position like before, and teh CPU spreads the ball around the field more. I also feel like I have a little more control on defense now as opposed it feeling so herky-jerky pre-patch.

This feels about 75% like a new game. It really does play a lot like NCAA in the past, which the feeling the majority of us wanted.

I'm now satisfied with my purchase. Get those bowl endzones, and artwork back in there next year and were back in business again.

Well am I the only one who's spilling the ball all the time? Am I the only one who's game's gotten all glitchy in the player animations? Am I the ony one with freezes? Am I the only one who's WRs no longer catch passes on their own? Please keep in mind that I'm playing on a PS3 and not online so perhaps the improovments are on 360 only OR there's something a muck and it's not my comments as I'm reporting MY findings...

I've yet to see any marked improovemen in the rushing D. Or any other aspect of the game... Pursuit, Robo QB or other wise...

There are still issues with the field goals, play clock and various other issues which some of you, yourselves have mentioned.

You guys are all whacking off beacuse a feature (sliders) that should have already been working in the first place is actuely working now... Gimme an Effn break!

I've yet to see anything other then the three flaws that I mentioned in my origianl post... I'm not on crack I'm just not on Fanboy juice... The very fact that you guys are quoting a guy that's saying good luck on a third patch, when a second one still leavs glarring issues in gameplay and frankly hurt good points of the original game is completly disgusting and rediculous!!!!

The only time I see this is on break away runs when you get into the open field. Other than that, I think it's actually smoother for the most part. I dont get so many herky-jerk reactions.

Very cool. I hate to nitpick but does anyone know if they plan on fixing the glitch on PS3 where the ball doesn't rotate when the QB throws it?

OMG! That definitely bothers the heck out of me!!!!

...that said, I highly highly doubt it.
            The Buckeyes WILL prevail!

These are both plays by the CPU offense:

I NEVER saw this long type of pass happen pre-patch

Now that the run slider works properly, the CPU had a nice TD run against me.

they have improved but are not at all realistic. People get tackled all the time behind the 20 and I would dare to see the avg on a return is the 20 yard line in a REAL game. I think the ball travels to fast on the kickoffs and the defenders can't catch up.

You are simply wrong. The average starting point after a kickoff last year was the 28.6 yard line. People do not get tackled all the time behind the 20. Watch some games this weekend and see how deep each kick is and where the return ends up.

I'm not sure why people think the average drive starts at the 20. Is that because of where you have to start after a touchback? Most guys will still return a kick a few yards deep in the end zone since they think they can get past the 20.

I play on PS3 and have not seen any of the things you mention here after the patch. I don't see an abundance of fumbles, the player animations are the same as before, I have experienced no freezes, and receivers catch the ball the same way they did before the patch.

and I've tackled people inside the 20 on kickoffs in the game. Yes, its rare that it happens but it does, just like the games I watch.

Now that the run slider works properly, the CPU had a nice TD run against me.

                            What sliders are you using?

Hmm... Ironic that the guy that posted right after me reported the animation glitch... It wasn't there before the update... I'm sure that the others are out there as well that are noticing things as well... I'm not lying as that doesn't help things at all... PM me on how to transfer video and I'll post em if you'd like... Hell go on youtube and see what you find under NCAA '09 glitch, there are tons!

As for fumbles, I'm using a decent back with a carry of about 80 +/- I don't know if this was just a bad game or what. As for the catching, mark my words on several occasions the ball has struck a wide open receiver in the head, and I can remember on two of these occasions it was on third down. One was an impact TE and the other was an impact WR...
Further more, the thread that's on this very forum mentions freezing.

Are you fumbling when you dive? Cause the new patch added that.
