    Re: 2008 Chicago Bears Den

After watching quite a few plays over and over again, Garza and Kreutz had very nice games( minus the botched snap). Forte had a very nice game also, in providing pass protection for Kyle. It was very nice seeing him, as a rookie, being able to pick up the blitz.

Also, how nice is it, when Forte needs a breather, to have a healthy Jones come in and back him up.

And yes Jistic, it did my heart good to see my boy M.B. back on the field again. I also have to give props out to St. Claire who did a nice job most of the night on Freeney ( granted dbl teaming helped )

I am very excited to see what Forte can do throughout the season. I think as long as our line holds up we will have a great running season.

Glad to see our defense back to where they need to be.

Here's to raising our glasses to a great Week 1 and to a prosperous season.

Wow! Not much to say about last nights game but...GO BEARS!

Maybe the Bears might have found the playmaker I've been waiting for in Forte?

Did Lovie and Dungy switch teams last night? Because I swear I saw adjustments being made on the Bears and no adjustments made for the Colts.

I just wished that these adjustments were made 2 years ago when we were in the Superbowl.

Not yet ready to purchase those playoff tickets BUT this is a nice win against one of the best QB's of our time. Hopefully, there won't be a let down in Carolina next week. They had weeks to prepare for Indy. Let's see how much they prepare for Carolina in a weeks time.

Awesome, just awesome. I just pray he stays healthy this year. He is a huge key to that defense.

Everyone looked really good last night. And Forte has some crazy cuts. Can't wait till next Sunday for another dose of Da Bears.

          EDIT:

Well not everyone looked good, yes I'm looking at you Hester. You can't make mistakes like that to start the half. Your up, you get the ball, you have the momentum and to pin your offense like that is just stupid. He just can be walking out of the endzone when everyone knows what he can do. Might have worked against NY when he was a rookie but won't work here.

Agreed. Hester seems like he is getting a little over confident in his ability. It becomes much harder to protect the football when you are pinned that deep in your own zone, especially when the play that got you there is supposed to be one of your strong suits.

              True story........

Sitting there watching the Bears play, my Wife watches me, as I act like a 9 year old boy jumping up and down and screaming with joy at the tv. About the middle of the 4th qtr, she leans the laptop over and shows me the email reciept for the NFL Sunday ticket Superfan pack for $365 or whatever.

She said" I saw you so excited, I just wanted you to have it" How flipping is awsome is that. It was right then and there I knew my choice I mad 6 years ago, was the right one.....yeah for me

This is also the same Wife who drove 5 hours each way with me, just so I could a copy of "The Show" 3 days early. ( she also threw it away, but that's not my point...lol)

                      Fred Miller is back.

The Official Website of the Chicago Bears - The charter franchise of the National Football League

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears on Wednesday bolstered their offensive line by re-signing veteran tackle Fred Miller to a one-year contract. Chicago made room on the roster by waiving rookie tackle Kirk Barton, a seventh-round draft pick from Ohio State.
Miller started 46 games the past three seasons with the Bears. Selected by the St. Louis Rams in the fifth round of the 1996 draft, Miller has helped pave the way for a 1,000-yard running back in seven of his 12 NFL seasons with the Rams (1996-99), Titans (2000-04) and Bears (2005-07).
                      I wouldn't say bolstered.

May sound crazy, but I think this week is one of the most important games of the year.

Teams that start 2-0 historically are about an 80% lock to make the playoffs.

5 of our next 7 games are at home. We go 2-0 on the road against two probably playoff teams, we're in good shape.

I think if we have another solid performance the confidence will be sky high for this team. I wanna see if we might have something here.

I think the Bears are going to have to be a little more productive through the air in this game. I think the Panthers front four are going to keep our ground game from exploding like we did against Indy. Once we start opening up our passing game today then I think the run and play action will hit all cylinders.

Ugh, my frustrations are running wild right now.

Olsen's blunders hurt us big time, BIG time. Two receptions, two fumbles. Way to contribute.

In our last chance, what the hell was Turner doing? On 3rd and 1 you try to run a quick screen pass to Booker! Why? This play hasn't worked all game long and the Panthers had our number on that play each dam time. Run the damn ball on 3rd and 1 with Forte and pick up the first.

And why is Davis out there on almost every damn play! Drops, penalties...

                                Re: 2008 Chicago Bears Den

That's very rare for Olsen, but yes that killed us.

But at the same time this is the bed we made. Our downfield passing was atrocious. Remember we ask Orton not to lose games...which he doesn't. However he doesn't win them either. Like Madden said, "Game Manager", usually means "QB can't play".

This is our flawed formula. Defense, force turnovers, special teams. We got all that and more today. Forte was solid as well. This team is in trouble when they need to score. We need breaks to win. If the breaks go against us, like they do for every NFL team, we're paralyzed.

And yes, Turner was AWFUL at the end. I watched the game with my dad and we were dumb founded. At the same time, the Audibiling that Orton was doing earlier was awful. He's also lucky three of his balls weren't picked. And 32 attempts for 142 yards? Not good.

We'll be in every game this year for sure. But we better not lose a lead.

Defense just simply wore out in that heat. GOTTA SCORE POINTS ON OFFENSE.
