I like the demo, but man it is way too fast, and no longer smooth like 08. I understand they needed to make it more responsive, but cutting out frames of an animation isnt the way to do it. It just seems too much like they are going they way PES with ultra fast gameplay to get responsiveness.

Try setting the game speed to Slow.

I personally don't see anything wrong with the speed, specially since if you try to just run through people in World Class difficulty, you'll lose possession pretty easily. I am a fan of slower gameplay, and at least at the default speed that the demo is running, it seems pretty balanced. I like it how you have to build up or you're pretty screwed to get a change at goal. Lob crosses are no longer a sure thing as in 08, with defenders reacting much better.

The only thing I didn't like a bit was that while your teammates are much more intelligent, they still don't pressure the ball enough, even when you instruct them to. They also seem to be caught out of position at times if you don't switch fast enough. That's a minor gripe though, because as I kept playing more, I found it to be much more responsive and could position them well enough to make a play. Could improve a bit though.

man, this will be a day one purchase for me. fifa hasn't done it for me on the 360 to date. i have enjoyed the demo far more than any full fifa 360 game...

Has anybody figured out how to hit side netting on a penalty? has anybody scored a free kick from just outside the box in the little beginning mode with ron?

I find the speed to be pretty spot on actually - and all the tactics are great to mess with this. There is not nearly that same sense of momentum ruling the day constantly as there was in 08.

The demo did lock-up on me once so far.

I'm sold too. I'm purposely fouling to see all the new animations and whoever mentioned the "hangtime" on the headers is spot on. So much smoother in every aspect of the animations. Tons more fouls in my 3 or 4 games too. I think the controls and speed are fine. I didn't realize you could change the speed so I'll give the slow setting a shot tomorrow. Seems they've improved almost everything gameplay related all that's left is manager mode. There may not be another sports game that touches my console for a long time once this is released....

Qb, in response to you earlier asking about how much ratings would play into players jumping and heading, in correlation to the pace of the ball off the header, this just happened to me; I sent a corner kick in and Ballack rose above everyone else, sending a header into the goal very straight and very fast. His ratings are as follows;

Heading Accuracy: 94
Jumping: 91

I have a feeling this played a huge role in the way he sent a rocket into the back of the net. Much like we've seen him do time and time again in real life.

Yep, it helped a bit in terms of how proactive they are, but there are still instances where the AI controlled teammate defender just doesn't put himself in the best position to make a play, to the point of clumsiness. It's still WORLDS better than what it was in 08 so I don't really have a problem with it, but I think it could be tightened up a tad. The AI is clearly a lot smarter in 09.

I agree with Acid about the FK. They look like a Randy Johnson slider with rediculous late break and movement.

I'm loving the aerial game, I'll dominate with Adebayor in my Arsenal manager mode.

I just hope the FKs are fixed by then, they annoy the **** out of me now.

Anyone else feel that its a bit herky jerky this year? i only played a little of the demo on the ps3 though. I didnt play it all that much, but it didnt feel as smooth as 08. I will have to play more though.
