same here. Purchased the "collectors edition" and I have two games in need of a patch and the only collecting is the dust on games not being played.

Same with me also. Even when patch #2 comes out I will still be waiting for the DLC to hopefully be released. I NEED those cpu sliders. I stopped being mad about this game and NCAA 09, it's just not worth it. I will guarantee that next year will be the first year I don't pre-order Madden and NCAA. I am giving both games at least a month after their release and will really look at all of the user complaints and compliments before I decide on buying these games or not.

I am also not going to read any professional reviews next year either (IGN, Gamespot, etc.) because they just aren't accurate. I am going strictly on user reviews.

I am definitely doing the same thing as you next season ab2c4.

I got really pulled into the hype again and picked up the CE edition and it sits waiting for the fixes I need to get a good franchise going. Fortunately there have been some other great sport releases this year that have been keeping me busy "Tiger 09, NHL 09" so it is making the time go faster.

I'm still very disappointed in some of the obvious issues that were missed and hope this is the patches of all patches!

Add me to the list of guys who spent $96 + after tax and I'm waiting for a patch for both Madden and Head Coach 09. Can't start a franchise yet in either game, only play now.

VERY obvious...but then again my biggest gripe was the computer sliders and once I had access to those in the second patch I was able to make the game everything i wanted it to be. My impressions might be a little clouded simply because I was so excited to get the working sliders.

The Patch for NCAA was fantastic. The only things missing in that game now are FCS teams, create-a school, field degradation and dynamic lighting.

Same here. I got the CE, saw that both games were pretty much broken (I only play Madden for Franchise Mode) and haven't played either since Aug. 13th.

This has NEVER happened to me with any other game. No other big budget, major developer game I own has shipped with entirely broken (Scouting) and unplayable (Franchise progression/player editing bug) flaws.

THAT BEING SAID, I am pleased this current developer team seems intent on addressing issues quickly and taking feedback.

Yeah, this really bugged me about Madden '09. The reviews seemed to be through the roof! I realized some game crippling bugs on day one, so I'm convinced these guys either play one quarter and write a review, or don't know football (funny, the european reviews were glowing), or unfortunately they're paid off...

The patch is now at our internal quality control group, and then on to Sony and Microsoft by (we think) Friday.

We are still targeting about 2-3 weeks from now for the patch to drop, and of course I will keep you updated as things progress.

Ok, Ian's post was on Sept 3. So in a best case scenario if the patch did in fact get out to MS/Sony by the Friday Sept 5th (we still do not have confirmation from Ian that is the case).. 2 Weeks from then would be this Friday the 19th.

3 Weeks from then would put it at Friday Sept 26.

I would say if we are lucky, maybe this Friday, but seeing how much red tape is involved to just get out a freakin patch, I would say we still have another 9 -11 days before we see it.

Agreed, It would be nice to get some confirmation that this still is the time table...

I'm hoping that this patch does what it did for NCAA 09, which saved the game for me. Otherwise this game is getting traded faster than any previous version of Madden.
