The second patch for Madden 09 may be out by the end of the week. There is always some level of uncertainty surrounding these things however.

I wonder if Pasta has some "inside information" or if he's just giving his best guess based on the info thats be given thus far.

I haven't played Madden over 3 weeks, I'm patiently waiting for the patch, but ever since this thread was released on the news of Patch 2 Ian hasn't show his face around here, was is that. A simple stiop to let us know something much be grateful.

If the patch isnt out by Friday I will be soooooooooooo pissed I may go back on my word and get the PS2 version of Madden or get NCAA 09 instead.

In the forum on his site, he makes it sound like he asked someone about it, and the latest word is that it may be end of this week.

He asked me about it. I'll confirm for this thread that we're *hoping* that we get approval this week. My fingers are crossed...

If MS or Sony find issues with the patch this week, it will likely mean that we'll see a delay by a couple of weeks.

Does approval mean that it goes up the same day as approval or does the patch "go live" a day or two after approval?

One more question Phil.

Can you clarify as to whether or not franchises will have to be started over for the patch to take effect? I know that Ian stated earlier that you shouldn't have to, but with the new addition of the fix for the franchise freezing issue, I was wondering what the status was now in regards to re-starting franchises?

The patch is normally posted within 24 hours of approval. As soon as we have approval from both parties and a confirmation on when they plan to release the patch, we'll post here.

No DLC with patch #2. We're still working on some technical challenges with our DLC goals. We'll have an update on those in the coming weeks.

thats cool. The only thing that I'm looking forward to in the DLC is the accelerated clock as I don't mess with sliders.

Patch 2 is big for me for the penalty sliders being amplified, the cpu doesn't run out of bounds while switching hands, and the fact that the cpu will take a little more time before snapping the ball giving me time to make an extra adjustment or two.

I know it's been asked a bunch of times, so it may have been answered already, but I haven't seen it: Now that the patch fixes the freezing problem, will it still work with existing franchises? Or will we have to start over?
