Re: NBA 2K9: Lakers vs. Celtics (User vs. CPU - Slider Speed @ 40)
My observations:
some of the passes look horrible, sometimes it completely kills the experience for me
there is some stiffness to the players' movements ( old engine is the culprit here)
jumpers sometimes look slow imoNBAComment

Re: NBA 2K9: Lakers vs. Celtics (User vs. CPU - Slider Speed @ 40)
That's one of my main gripes with what I saw. I was hyped when I saw the On the Spot video where those replays weren't present, then with these new videos, they pop up immediately after the play.Quoted for truth.
I don't post a lot, but i read a lot. I don't care if it's viral marketing, fanboys or whatever, but putting Live and 2K in the same sentence is a disrespect to the game of basketball.
I've played the Live demo and i felt completely lost by what peole were saying. Means to me that most people don't know jack about basketball. For god's sake, they have a highlight button!
Gameplay is where is at, and judging by the video, lots of bugs that plagued 2K8 were toned down, and the only letdown i saw were the playcalling and the unrealistic replays.
Is it so hard for developers to put the replays on dead balls, like in real life? Have they never watched a broadcast?
I hope they can patch those minor glitches. The ultimate test is seeing how much the game can be exploited online. That's the real deal.Comment

Its like growing up a child for 18yrs and once he turns 18 he turns out to be a know-it-all over night. 2k I'm with you now and with you till the End. Keep doin what you doin, cause theyre only making you make more money with all this 2k vs Live crap.Comment

I don't see why people are complaining about the last couple seconds of the game where Pierce takes long for the play to progress. Do you think thats gonna happen every time? No, the guy got caught up in a screen. It's not gonna happen EVERY TIME.Comment

Re: NBA 2K9: Lakers vs. Celtics (User vs. CPU - Slider Speed @ 40)
It doesn't happen EVERY TIME in 2k8 either but it's still a problem. Games don't freeze up EVERY TIME you play them either, but that's also still a problem. The "it doesn't happen every time" is just a cop out. Fact is, that when a player gets caught up like that, they should be trying even harder to get to their spot to get the play going.Comment

No, but there should be a sense of urgency when you're caught behind one. This is where hustle and effort should come into play.Comment

I think bateman11 was directing that towards ryanm1058123.
But it would be great if hustle and effort was directly correlated to HOW they fight through or around the screens.Amen.Lol, people get enjoyment from their game in different ways. Why they enjoy one thing over another is not really important. --trobinson97Comment

That's only half the point, even when he doesn't get stuck and walk, he goes through the motion way too slowly. They need to get players to bust it off screens and catch the ball aggressively, squaring up into a triple threat position. I've said it a bunch, but it looks like they're going through a play in a pre-game walk through."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
