Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
It would be great if they had a huge, HUGE dip in Madden sales in 2010. Won't happen, though.
Because that's the only way they'll be forced to put out a product that, you know, you can actually play? What a novel concept!
Oh well. On the bright side I at least won't be wasting countless hours of my life on this gar-baj of a video game anymore.Comment

So what your saying is, its freezing constantly? I highly doubt "most" people are having trouble getting through a game without freezing but I can clearly see you are since Ive read it a half dozen times in various threads.Comment

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
After playing a few games today, I think you're right about this. Now I think the game is fun and that it's moving in the right direction, but I noticed that the QB responds the same unrealistic way to pressure far too often. When I get a good rush going, the QB takes a step back and then wings one off his back foot to the open receiver. It's as though the pressure has no effect on accuracy or on the QB's ability to read the defense--and this is JT O'Sullivan, not Tom Brady.I don't know if this has been brought up or not... especially now... that I have a few broken knuckles and I really don't care to sift through this thread.
CPU QB Accuracy must be addressed. Not in a DLC pack... in a patch... NOT IN A DLC pack... in a patch.
Because honest to God, there's no way Donovan McNabb or any other **** QB can throw off of his back foot with a LB in his face and land it square in the numbers. No way in hell.
Furthermore, it seems to me that the Human defense just got dumber. At least pre-patch, I can make a play on a floating ball. Instead, I can't get anywhere close enough because they're all wanting to have a massive orgy on the sidelines. Coverage in general needs to be tuned.
Anyway, that's my effing rant.
Even with Heel's sliders and a Raider's secondary that's pretty good--and far better than the 49ers receiving core, JT was 14-18 in the first half. There seemed to be a couple of yards of separation for nearly every receiver on the field. I'd love to see that remedied and to see the QB throw more balls that are just flat off target.Comment

why a patch?? i would rather them include cpu sliders in DLC...seems like the right way to go to me...I don't know if this has been brought up or not... especially now... that I have a few broken knuckles and I really don't care to sift through this thread.

I can't speak for the rest, but my copy is pure trash. it freezes in game 50% of the time. The disc is unscathed, doesn't have a scratch on it. I guess some have gotten lucky.
My game on the other hand is having the same EXACT problems as ktd1976's. It freezes every single other time (sometimes 2 or 3 times in a row)the game ends and tries to enter the game stats & highlights screen.Comment

Well I certainly hope I dont run into that anytime soon but there are just some things with EA that I know will happen and releasing buggy software is one of them. If this happens to me then off to ebay it goes and I will move on to something else at that time.I can't speak for the rest, but my copy is pure trash. it freezes in game 50% of the time. I guess. Buggy software is one thing though, an entirely unplayable game is another. Sure, maybe the others and I are in the minority, but this is pathetic.Well I certainly hope I dont run into that anytime soon but there are just some things with EA that I know will happen and releasing buggy software is one of them.
I mean I shelled out 60 plus for this thing and I found out I couldn't play my franchise until this "patch" came out. So I waited patiently. Then it comes out and now I basically get the same game freezing piece of crap except it has the computer hold the ball a little longer before the snap to comfort me. Awesome! Thanks, EA!Comment

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
I'm on the PS3 and since downloading the newest patch last night I have yet to play or even start to play one single game on or off line. After only a few plays the game freezes, at which time I'm forced to bring up the XMB and quit back out to the main menu. It's at this point that my PS3 will completely shut it self down and reboot.
Tonight I decided to try and deleted everything saved on my HDD with Madden attached to it and try again.
After re-downloading the patch the game will now not even load past the initial start up screen with Favre; it just stays on LOADING........LOADING.......LOADING..........
So as of 11 O' clock est. I'm now the proud owner of a $65 Blu-ray coaster.
Bravo Tiburon. Bravo.

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
honestly, the game feels the same. The field degradation is weak. It should get tore up in rain just as bad as the uniforms get. The patch for NCAA had a much more noticeable effect. I do like the longer time for cpu snap though.Comment

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
My personal opinion w/ this second patch:
My game never froze until I got this patch. Yesterday it froze three times, twice in CAT and once starting a new franchise. It hasn't frozen since, so I'm just hoping yesterday was a bad day.
I only played a game in heavy snow. Is the field degradation only supposed to affect the rain? I expected to see snow kicked up or different levels of it on different parts of the field.
QB taking time to snap the ball is great, except on punts, but I can deal w/ that. Funny when the CPU kicked a field goal, it snapped it almost exactly coming out the play call screen.
The penalties are crazy. Me and a friend played w/ clipping, false start, and holding 75. At one time their was one of those penalties every play for 7 seven straight plays. Lowering holding to 65, it still kept coming too much. I feel as if EA has went from one extreme to the other, hopefully the penalty slider helps this so it's ok.
The CPU seems to run the ball more which is great. I have to actually worry about the run game.
All in all, as long as the freezing doesn't become a constant it's pretty good. I'm disappointed it takes EA three times to get a game right (Right being a stretch). But I will also say I haven't had this much fun w/ Madden since 2005. I also think CPU sliders could solve Robo QB too.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya
