Or they could very easily disable the no-huddle and set it up so it is only enabled within the last 3-4 minutes of the game and the half, online of course since we can play against the CPU anyway we want. I know its not a perfect solution but its better then either having people complain about the abuse it would get if the fatigue was really working or, in this case, basically having zero fatigue.

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
Yeah, the only time I've seen significant fatigue and players attually being auto-subbed out is when I run the ball up the gut on about 5 straight plays. Even then it doesn' happen frequently. It doesn't frustrate me so much for my team...Ijust "simulate" it by doing my own subs from time to time. It is frustrating to watch the CPU sustain a long drive with nobody fatiguing. defensive fatigue is even worse, IMO.I didn't play '08 in depth enough to know how bad the fatigue issue was or even if there was one. The fact that players disappeared in franchise and the turnover fest really turned me off to that game to where I only played against friends and occasionally online.
I am not seeing players get subbed at all. On top of that, I am not seeing players even get remotely tired, at least according to the numbered dots on the play call screen. They are supposed to turn to yellow then red for players that are getting tired and for those who are exhausted.
The 'Phins put together a drive of 6:30 and not one player on my defense got subbed, let alone tired. My DL was still in tact and fine as were my LB's. My secondary was as well, but thats not my biggest beef. DL/LB's should get at least fatgued and DT's should come out for a play or two on long substained drives by the offense.
I am so frustrated and annoyed at this game right now, that for the first time since I've had it, I've turned it off due to those two things, frustrated and annoyed.

defensive fatigue I believe is non-existent. As for offense. I started up another game with the 'Phins and noticed that Ginn and Fasano both left for a play or three at two different points in the game. Williams also sat down, but he goes out on all third downs, so he doesn't fatigue as quickly as every down backs. Williams was subbed after running for a 4 yard gain and then followed it up with a 17 yard gain which was called back due to holding.Yeah, the only time I've seen significant fatigue and players attually being auto-subbed out is when I run the ball up the gut on about 5 straight plays. Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
That's something I look for in a game.....taking away realism to prevent cheesing online. Maybe they can add another down to prevent cheesers from constantly going for it on 4th when online.I agree. If memory serves me right, Ian said they "toned down" fatigue to counter the online players going no huddle....IMO, the way to fix that would have been to cause HIGHER fatigue for the offense when they went no huddle....casuing false starts, missed assignments, fumbles, picks, etc...I just want a hockey and football game where I can spend more time playing my seasons then I spend changing my sliders.Comment

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
I agree with this 100%.Ok. The lack of fatigue is really starting to wear on me. Its frustrating to put long drives together but still not have anyone get tired.
In my opening pre-season game, I just put together a 13 play drive that ate up 7:45 off the clock and not one single person was tired. I have my sub in/out at 95/100 for all skill positions on offense and all postitions on defense. Arrggghh.
This is seriously frustrating.
They almost got fatigue right last year and they go an fock it up this year.
I'd kill for a realistic fatigue model. When I send a WR on a 50-yard streak, he should be gassed and replaced. Not in Madden 09. He's as fresh as a daisy.
God forbid we see any DL rotations.Comment

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
Here's a quick rundown of the recent Madden "fumbles".....
06-Overall a complete mess
07-No fatigue....needed patched
08-Franchise lockups (sound familiar),disappearing fa's,insane amount of turnovers......needed patched, not received (for 360) until late Nov. early dec (iirc)
09-Franchise lockups (2nd straight year) lack of fatigue,it's damn near becoming a "yearly tradition"...lolPeople are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
On '09, don't forget Robo-QB. EA knows it is there and does nothing except make us hope that CPU sliders (taken out this year, BTW) will be available as DLC to fix it even though we haven't heard anything on them for weeks. This game was unplayable before Dummy Sliders made it at least tolerable. Having all QBs with a 80% completion rate and making blitzes worthless is pretty weak and frustrating. Here's a quick rundown of the recent Madden "fumbles".....

Looking at the stuff fixed by this patch, it is all stuff the community figured out within days. Now I realize a million guys will find more stuff than the handful of QA guys EA allocates to the job but I think patches should attack more actual glitches and less stuff that should never have made it past QA if they would have at least a couple guys play like the average franchise player plays...8 min quarters, all pro default sliders. They would have seen Robo-QB, they would have seen the broken challege play, they would have seen the messed up draft, they would have seen fatigue was non-existent, they would have seen the guys running out of bounds, they would have seen the field not degrading, and they would have seen there were no penalties in the games. Heck, they would have seen it all regardless of quarter length and slider setting if they simply had someone play against the CPU.
Sorry if I am a little bitter but when game testers work for $10 an hour and EA is a billion dollar company, you'll have to excuse me for not being excited when a patch, though good and I am glad we got it, has the majority of its fixes dealing with things that should have been found before the game was released.Currently playing Axis Football (2020) as the Nebraska ThunderComment

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
well we can add a third, I just experienced the franchise freeze. I finished one of my preseason games and I went back to the franchise main menu to sim the other games and it froze.

Believe it or not, some of the things we complain about in this crap game, actually do exist. Here's to getting the CPU to gain more than 2 yards per carry.Comment

EA has an exclusive deal with a league that has a virtual monopoly on professional football. Ipso Facto, EA has a virtual monopoly on professional football. But I don't blame them for making a shrewd business move, and I think they still have ample incentive to make a quality game.Comment

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here
I have tried numerous times to tell EA why this game freezes, but I get no response. The reason is that the game does not know how to manage a franchise. When it starts to freeze, you can go look at your rosters and the problem is that one of the teams is way over the cap and does not have enough players on the roster and therefore can't afford to sign what position they need. Only the CPU can fix it being that we can only control our team. This has been the problem with everyone's preseason freezes. The Raiders usually seem to be the culprit team for me. It's a shame that a regular guy like me can figure this out and EA won't even listen to me. If you look in your frozen franchise you will eventually find the team that can't sim. Sim individual game by game and you will see.Comment
