So they have the Pierce flop just like real life. Did he come back in and score 30. Don't mind me, I'm still bitter about that one.

He decided to pick me up at the 3pt line, tried to foul me, and I spun by him and went in for the straight Jumpman dunk. It was insane looking.
Man you should just have a camera whenever you play 2k cuz you've laid out some pretty baller stuff on these threads lol.

Word, Sixaxis for life, I couldn't go back to regular free throws now. Adds a lot of drama to every shot because it feels like you're really shooting it (and it's nice when players like Chris Paul or Tyson Chandler are a real bitch to get down).

About to start my second game - it seems like no one has mentioned this but the game feels twice as slow as 2K8, despite everyone saying it looked fast. I tried one post move with Garnett, and while I liked that it was totally under my control it seemed VERY drawn out. Maybe this is just something I have to get used to.

            1. To me i love the isomotion!! Its not a unresponsive as last year. Like the guys said though there is a learning curve. The new moves are very nice though.

            2. The players have weight to them again. That was my biggest gripe I had with 2k8. You can finally take a charge! I have already saw a charge called in my brief time with the demo! I cant remember if i had even one in 2k8.

            3. You can defend your basket!! This is huge for me because if you cant get any stops other than steals on defense, the game will turn into a score fest. I like that if someone drives my lane, i can attempt to stop them and make em' earn the points from the line!

            4. I saw the real time injury! I fouled Paul Pierce on a breakaway with Odom. Pierce landed wrong on his knee. He began to roll around on the ground for a few seconds grabbing his knee. His face showed that he was in pain. Then Garnett came over and helped him to the bench! All of this was in real time!

            5. Shooting is Improved!!! They still gather there feet before shooting, but the hitch that was in 2k8 is removed!!! Shooting is almost perfect!!

That's about it. I need to play some more to see if I notice anything else, but clearly its just a demo, so i wont get the entire feel of the game until Tuesday, but so far its the BEST BBALL GAME I HAVE PLAYED besides actually playing. Hope these impressions help calm some of you who still cant play the game yet. Sure its just a demo, but its better to feel the game yourself, than to have to rely on vids.

I admit, I was really hyped thinking Live was gonna challenge 2k for the crown this year, and while i am still purchasing both on day one, based on the demos; IT AIN'T EVEN CLOSE!!! Seriously, 2k was and still is the best Sim out period. Is it perfect? NO! But is it close? ABSOLUTELY!
About #4, I'm disappointed that Paul Pierce didn't just get up and start playing like is normal self, I though he had faked it.

Kobe just reached on a Ray Allen jumpshot... Ref calls the foul. Kobe just stands there looking at the ref... a few seconds go by, he shakes his head and rolls his eyes in disgust. Hilarious.

lol I'm so confused!?!?! Haven't had time to try the demo yet, but I've read numerous posts saying the game is a jaggy low res mess, and many others saying its absolutely beautiful? Guess I'll have to wait until I play it to know for sure, but people seem to be having completely opposite experiences here.

One thing I just immediately noticed - Odom pulled down a rebound and had a good distance on Pierce, but controlling Pierce I was able to catch up to Odom by the time he got righ past the top of the arc. Nice to see player speed having a real impact.

Just tried my first leaner (never played a basketball game with this option) and Pierce boinked it off the side of the backboard with 4 seconds left - luckily KG came in and slammed home the rebound just like he did in that massive playoff game (was that against the Lakers? or the Cavs? forget)

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3 Only For Now)

Lowering the sharpness definitely helped, the jaggies are pretty much gone.

                    1. The off the ball movement is amazing for both teams. I was worried about it being a 'some of the time' thing in some of the videos Steve posted but 2K really nailed it. That should help raise the replay of this game tremendously, to me at least.

                    2. DC is may have a mild stroke, lol. I saw Pau Gasol catch the ball at the high post and dribble behind his back not once but twice trying to take Bynum to the tin. I also saw Powe throw a pinpoint behind-the-back pass from the baseline out to Pierce on the wing behind the arch. Rating adjustments should take care of this.

                    3. The CPU seems to be more on a mission this year, they do move more quickly without the ball and attack much better than in 2K8. One game when I was the Lakers the C's were 5-5 from three on me, nuts. As the Celtics, one game they gave the ball to Kobe almost every time down and then in another game they really pounded it inside to Bynum and Gasol. At least one big man got a post touch on each possession.

                    4. Oh, and did I mention the layups are ridiculously good?

Overall, a big thumbs up for this one so far.

I'm heading out to the car to get my digital...

That was just nasty what I pulled off though. Once I get the hang of it, it'll be fun.

Right now, graphically... not up to par in my eyes. I'm hoping they kinda dumbed down the court texture to lower the demo size. 1080p looks better... but there are a lot of things that are blurry, that shouldn't be blurry.

                          Overall, very nice though.

See I disagree because never in a sports game should you have to pause in your shot to wait for the other axis to line up perfectly, with the R stick you have to do it all in one easy motion (altogethor, no click click).

some of the mid air shot adjustments looks way to overdone. But some look amazing, i wish this demo had replay so i can take a video of some of these things but it doesnt o well.

WOW, something I've been waiting FOREVER FOR!

I'm late to get in position and Fisher streaks into the paint and barely gets a flaoter in past KG's outstretched hands, but he immediately picks it up and (holding X) inbounds it to Rondo while Fisher is collapsing to the ground out of bounds and rolling over, and Rondo takes advantage and pushes up court, then I do a little behind the back action and dance around Bynum for the lay-in. I see Rondo take advantage of that kind of thing often but you could never EVER do it in 2K8.
