Yea dude exactly the same for me. I feel that the game is more responsive but isomotion is definitely different. haven't figured it out yet

You can really tell the demo is nowhere near the final product in terms of polished.

I'm loving all the animations I've seen. The ball/hoop interaction can't be touched by any other game. Oh and the blocks are awesome too...Kobe stuffed a Ray Allen lay up from behind.

      Only cons:
      Need to turn down speed
      Need to lower FG% numbers
Need to learn how to use all the controls better
Need to learn how to Isomotion MUCH BETTER...man I am terrible at it.

I downloaded the demo last night and here are some things I found interesting:

The intro to the game is a nice touch with the video highlights from last season. You then get to the starting line-ups and you see the camera pan on different players and you immediately can tell the difference from a graphical stand point.

I'm a stickler for authenticity and out of all the demos for pro basketball i have seen this season(NBA 09, NBA Live 09 and NBA 2K9) only NBA 2K9 has the red auerbach signature on the court, thats a big deal to me.

The crowd has more life to it than in any NBA game i have ever played. It seems now they are programed to do the same moves but at different intervals giving the impression that they are all singular.

Signature styles for KB24, The Truth, Tuff Juice(KG), and Mr. Shuttlesworth, Pau, and Odom are much better than last year. the freethrow routines are spot on in my view. The ball handling is much better.

The game plays and feel like your actually in a game on TV. I was on a break with Brynat handling ther ball and was attempting to lob the ball to Odom for an oop, when it was broken up by Rondo. The animations that followed were in accordance with what i thought a player would do. the ball went up, Odom started his jump, Rondo tipped, Odom began his extension to get the ball, when the ball was out of reach, he pulled his arm back in and came down as if he wanted that one real bad.

This game is amazing and even though it is only one quarter of play, its way better than live will be this year. Much more inteligent and players smoother. I could gone on forever about what I have noticed but this isnt my college dissertation im writing, its a review.....

The oops in this game are truly awesome...

Im gonna be in practice mode a lot throwing some up!

And the FT routines...Damn near perfect and I like how there no more generic "idle" animation after the dribble!

I had Paul Gasol foul Perkins hard. He fell, and Gasol went to help him up and once Perkins got up he shoved him away. lol..

I'm loving this game so far!!

the graphics don't look as good as i thought they would...i'm hoping it's b/c they can't fit so much graphical greatness on a demo...i'm playing on an hdtv too

anyway...i'm starting to get a feeling for teh controls again...at first i got manslaughtered like 8 to 2 while i was the lakers

when i played as the celtics, i got a steal in traffic with ray allen...drove all the way to teh basket in a 2 on 1 (rondo was the other one) vs kobe...i passed to rondo, he went up for the layup and kobe blocked it against teh backboard, it was sick

edit: post moves are also a tad different this year as well as isomotion...either that or it's from the camera angle i'm not used to

Ive been around these forums for years and only as a spectator. I couldnt participate because i didnt have a next gen console. I finally got an xbox 360 about a month ago and Ive been playing NBA 2k8 all this time and ive been blown away by it. Imagine my amazement to see this demo come out and showcase so much improvement. BTW I dont know whats happening with the PS3 demo but the xbox 360 demo is absolutely gorgeous, no "jaggies", not texture issues, the game looks and plays like a real NBA game.

Anyone else getting low framerate on the first FT attempt like last year before they patched it? Sure is making it hard to hit the 1st FT.

W00t, just got my hands on the demo. After 2 games... Rondo shook me with his signature move, the one where he ball fakes to one side, spins, and lays it up with the other hand. It was sweet. I can definitely see Rondo being useful in 2k9, whereas in 2k8 because of his crappy ratings and the fact he was nonexistant offensively (thanks lockdown D) he was worthless.

It doesn't seem to me the speed is faster than 2k8. Maybe because I'm used to a fast breaking mess in 2k8 when I play my roommate. Anyway, the players do feel a lot heavier and there definitely is more footplanting.

Isomotion is also weird for me now...Can you still pull off moves without the modifiers? Or do you have to use a modifier?

Also it doesn't feel like I can backdown on command, or maybe I just need to be guarded close enough to. Not sure, haven't played long enough to figure it out.

I think switching to EZ Iso will remedy alot of folks having issues using Iso with this current set up of controls IMO.

I took me quite a while to figure out the new system but I finally got it. Just keep playing around and it will click for you guys. Basically you can't do standing still iso moves anymore. Flicking the stick back and forth while not holding turbo isn't going to let you change hands anymore with a casual crossover. You can't really play with the ball as much, at least I can't yet.
