I'm with you homie, I was scared for a minute when I downloaded the ps3 version. You wanna talk about jaggies, MAN. On my tv as well the 360 version anti-aliasing is way better hardly any jaggies.Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
ive been able to pull the leaner off by driving to one direction and keep the left stick and the right stick to the same direction im driving. just have to figure out the release point. the only problem is that the leaner for everyone is the same, no different animation. KDRE hopefully i get the game today and i am planing on putting out a few game play vids with teams that haven't been shown all that much
I've been able to do that too but im not talking about a leaner. Let me know if you come up with anything because i'll be there in a heartbeat.Comment

I concur, the 360 version looks much better. I had the ps3 version first and wasn't at all impressed with the graphics. After downloading the 360 version i was pleasantly surprised.Fantasy football fans... The leaners are so nice. For anyone having problems, make sure you're pushing the shot stick left or right (camera-relative, as always) instead of pulling it back like normal. Remember they said that the leaners, runners, and floaters are on-command this year.
I do agree that there is too much suqaring up with the normal jumpshots... but if you use the shot stick, you can remedy some of that with the leaners when they're coming off screens. Alley-oops are beautiful -- I hit Kobe several times on the break and they were all normal dunks instead of some crazy 360 BS like would happen in 2K8.
I'm hoping that they fix the hitch that exists when you jab step and then try to shoot quickly (think Melo) -- there's a huge delay that totally ruins the timing.
Heh, I did "rock the cradle" with Kobe going baseline. The best part was that it was basically a contextual animation and he avoided the defender coming from the left with the dunk motion itself and then finished as he flew by.. DC would probably still complain because it was in-traffic, but I loved it due to the appropriateness of the whole thing. And yeah, I managed the Rondo ball fake move in the post on the break.. it surprised me and I was dying for a replay option.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
m-dogg, I agree...the right analog stick on post defense shouldn't have the same actions as it does on the perimeter, just like the stick lays it in up close or shoots from far away. I think pressing toward the offensive player should press into his back, left or right you react/shift in that direction (like walking/running it's pressure sensitive so you could recover) and towards the basket puts your hands in the air.Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
The game feels way too similar to NBA 2K8. I was afraid this was going to happen. I play each 2K title to absolute death every single year, so that could have something to do with it.
If someone put 2K8 in front of me and said this was actually 2K9, I'd believe them.Comment

Can't wait! Even though it's a demo, and it's very compressed (only about 400 plus megs) it's already better than 2k8 (and obviously Live 09).
As for you guys going on and on about which system 2k (or any other game) looks better in, to each his own. It's getting old. The 360 has Xbox Live, which is hands down a lot better than PS3's free service. Some features are better on the PS3 some on the 360. The graphic differences are so minuscule, they shouldn't even matter. If you have both systems and feel that a certain game looks better on one of those certain system, then buy it for that system! We're suppose be talking about a great basketball game here!
I personally have a PS3, works for me and it's good enough for me. I wanted blu-ray and I wanted Metal Gear, plain and simple. Couldn't afford both. I've had a 360 in the past (traded it in) and played 2k8 a lot on both, and there isn't a huge difference. The graphics weren't better on the 360 or PS3, they were just different.
I know 2k9 is gonna be a great game on both. PERIOD!Comment

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here
you'd be a fool to think so. The amount of animations, changes in lock down D, AI that you see in the demo alone is astounding.
On another note, pressing the two triggers together and A goes a give and go.Comment

That's what it was -- I saw an 'A' icon pop up over Gasol's head and hit him for a nice dunk, but I didn't know how I did it.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Mine is already on there... calibrated nicely where Uncharted, MGS4, and Ratchet and Clank look like graphical MASTERPIECES! I just don't know wtf is up with 2k9 on the PS3http://www.myspace.com/phillthegenesis

No way this game looks like 2k8. You're crazy if you think that. I don't know about the 360 version, but I know the PS3 version is very very compressed, but you can still see that it's way better than 2k8. The animations, controls, the crowd, the atmosphere, the spacing, etc.
And yes, there are jaggies on the PS3 version, because it's compressed and it's a demo. Idiots!Comment
